Sometimes, I can't come up with a twist on Pinkie Pie's interpretation for a given scene because canon Pinkie Pie's behavior is already perfect for that scene no matter what the context is. Not sure if that makes my writing job easier or more difficult.

When it comes to writing Pinkie Pie, the answer is almost always "both."

Both. Both is good.

For every Pinkie action, there is an equally irrational, yet believable, alternative action.

And that is why Pinkie Pie is best pony.

Man, this is great, I can't believe I haven't seen this comic until now!

I'd think "easier". You can just use the material that's already right there.

Alternately: canon Pinkie Pie breaks fourth walls so much (and sometimes plays at mystic seeing the future) that she foresaw your need, and provided years in advance. As in, Pinkie Pie co-wrote this part of your comic. (Which means she knew all along that you'd get this far.)
