Guest Author’s Note: “Alternate title: Where Does She Keep These Wonderful Toys?

When you think about it, DM and Celestia have opposite problems. Celestia has had centuries of dealing with magical threats and either creating, utilizing, or sealing away magical items by the boatload, yet when the threats come back, her problem-solving team has never heard of them before because Celestia never bothered to make a list of these potential threats.

The DM has done nothing but make potential threats and magical items, and yet their problem-solving team succeeded so well that the list was basically ripped apart on day one.

Any stories about a DM’s unused lore?”

I did have a prompt, but GreatDinn had a better one.

I'll save it for later.

In fairness, she sealed them away with the intent of never having them come back. Also, many of the threats she herself never heard of because Starswirl dealt with them.

In a world of magic though it's rather foolish to assume anything is permanently dealt with. Even the dead aren't necessarily staying in their graves.

Now onto the prompt. I ended up building an entire planet for the group to deal with thinking they'd definitely jump into a mysterious portal as they had done in the past, only for this to be the One time they decided "nah, we should close it." Planet had a full on socio economic and weather system.

Yeesh. If you put that much work in it... Maybe you have the portal activate and pull them in.

It was tempting to do that but at the same time I hate playing under gms who railroad and so do my best to never do so myself. Honestly I just end up setting aside things like that to use for another campaign or a later one etc. My habit of building more sandboxy campaigns probably causes me to build way more then is neccessary anyhow.

I believe it's a corollary to Murphy's law that the more thought you put into a sub-area/world/plotline, the more likely the party is to completely ignore/invalidate it.

Does never having DMed and therefor never having a chance to use any lore I make for DMing count?
Extended Lore 28th Dec 2019, 10:55 PM edit delete reply
For those not as savy that know it everything... Can anyone explain the 'Extended Lore' and the GM reaction?
GD 30th Dec 2019, 10:51 AM edit delete reply
Extended lore, in the context of regular fiction, is all of the content that doesn't make it into the main product. Worldbuilding notes, cut scenes, extra books or movies, stuff like that.

For DM's, the extended lore is whatever the DM planned, but the players don't encounter. Sometimes it gets used later, sometimes it never sees the light of day. Sometimes the DM realizes later that the original idea wasn't that good, and can either tweak it or leave it be.

In this particular case, the reaction is along the lines of "Oh no, all of my notes are being used, even the ones I'm iffy about."

I faced a serious injury at an early point in my career. At that time, I thought that being strong meant not letting anyone know what I was going through and not adjusting anyone’s expectations (including my own). Now, I realize that we are all just human beings. Asking for help when you need it demonstrates confidence and builds trust, not the other way around.

I am a mother of four children, which made me feel as though the freedom to study is perhaps behind me. However, my passion for children and a desire to prove myself led to me discovering the best coding classes.

Through free classifieds in Bangalore portal, I came across various prime institutes that are teaching online. By deciding to study to become a teacher’s aide online, I found that I could study whilst still spending time with my family. Like many others, I needed to accomplish something for myself – proving to myself and my family that I could achieve my goals.

I didn't take it seriously, as I haven't heard about it ever. I left that forum, and scroll down to the next page. But didn't feel like yes, I should go with this. Then I thought why not believe that boy? At least search the site, and then decide. Also, that boy stated that it is a free website so there is nothing wrong if at one place it provides me all schools or classes. I gave it a try and found out many ideas which have confused me in which field I needed to go.

Seriously, free classifieds in Chennai portal has come up with the list of all performing arts classes. Like, they have listed acting school, dance academy, music classes, drama classes, theater school, and various art academy. Then I got confused that in which field I should try. I have taken advice from my parents and friends. They all have reminded me about the function in which I have participated in drama and suggested me to go for the same.

When it comes to market houses for sale in India, Real Estate is a lucrative investment option. You might be faced with daunting challenges like delays in the sales as well as low returns. With the help of technology, marketing a property in India has become easy. Now, you can advertise your property along with its photographs and earn a handsome amount.

Despite the market being conductive, sometimes a property does not sell so let me outline some common mistakes done by home sellers while trying to market houses for sale in India.

Over the past few months, I have been asked if it’s a good idea to buy cars in India through a classified portal. Before answering this question, let’s take a look at the car business as a whole.

The major companies buy three million cars each year and after 18 to 20 months, those cars do not magically disappear, they get sold, either at major auctions or through a classified portal. This means roughly one in five cars on the road is a well-conditioned used car on which you could be sitting right now and do not even know about it.
