Guest Author's Note: "Since the episode didn't have any images of Rainbow Dash looking sleepy on a cloud, I went to Google Images and searched for 'Rainbow Dash tired'. Of course, instead of finding what I needed, I found an artist's rendition of Rainbow Dash as a tire. Ah, the Internet. Don't ever change."

It would be hilarious if she got a drake hatchling, and asked Twi to age it up.

This is the image, by the way.

Why was this idea not in the Raxon newsletter?!

RAXON! You're slipping! Get your crap-kickers on and break some greenskin heads!

Raxon has a newsletter?

Ah, the dire kitten. Not even level 5 commoners are safe.

I only just realized that some birds in Equestria seem to have "Cloudwalking" as an ability too.
Walabio 12th Oct 2013, 6:32 AM edit delete reply
It is my understanding that if it flies, it also walks on clouds.

My headcanon states that Twilight didn't need to cast the walking on clouds spell for Pinkie, but did, just in case.
Digo 12th Oct 2013, 10:18 AM edit delete reply
Seems odd since Pinkie needed balloons, a trampoline and a flying doo-hicky to keep up with Gilda and Dash.
_R_ 12th Oct 2013, 9:14 PM edit delete reply
Or the fact that she still had some trouble believing Pinkie's Fourth Wall abillities.
Coincidentally, there seems to be a lack of story time for guest comics, so I'm going to make a completely lame one here: did any of your players ever try to break the fourth wall?

There was one time when the sorcerer responded in character to my out-of-character pop culture reference. Since we were the only arcane casters in the group, my wizard shushed him and stage whispered, "We do not discuss the matters of other realms in front of the normies!"

I once did a campaign based around the idea that the entire world was a virtual reality...and the supervillain trying to destroy it was an actual NPC who had broken character, discovered the world's true nature, and was trying to destroy it to set everyone free. It was actually set up so that 'meta-gaming' was allowed and helpful, but would count as a point towards an alignment shift towards being allied with the villain.

It actually ended with the party being seriously conflicted about stopping him, because he claimed they were all 'Player Characters' who had been trapped there against their will along with many others. In the end, they did wind up stopping him when one of the players said, "Wait a minute. If he wins, the game ends...and we go back to being normal, right?" When the answer was 'yes', they replied, "Screw that! I like blowing shit up!"

I then tweaked the system for future campaigns in that setting so that meta-gaming resulted in a reputation hit. They found a pretty good balance there...until one of the PCs found the "code room" and redesigned the game to make them the ruler of the world, and then the rest of the party had to fight him. That was rather fun, if strange.

You know, I was just about to point that out. I think maybe the clouds in Equestria just plain are solid, and it's really just a matter of how much you weigh.

Then explain Snowflake.
*Sigh* 12th Oct 2013, 9:15 AM edit delete reply
Snowflake was trying out for the Wonderbolts and did decent, I don't think he's an exception.
Tatsurou 12th Oct 2013, 9:32 AM edit delete reply
Tatsurou
I meant about clouds supporting things based on weight. You can't tell me he's lightweight.
Siarles 12th Oct 2013, 12:48 PM edit delete reply
Those lumps aren't muscles, they're helium pouches.
Brickman 12th Oct 2013, 1:14 PM edit delete reply
Clearly the reason that Snowflake is such a good flier that the Wonderbolts are considering him is that he can't walk on clouds--he has to hover at all times while in Cloudsdale, and to avoid weirding people out he's gotten good enough at controlling it that he looks like he's just standing.
Onyxjew 12th Oct 2013, 4:14 PM edit delete reply
I honestly laughed at the helium pouches.

Why do I have the feeling she wants Tank just so she can train him to be a ninja?
Letrune 13th Oct 2013, 5:35 AM edit delete reply
If she calls an animal Tank, I guess it wishes to use it as so.
Or gets an actual tank. No idea. :D
Digo 13th Oct 2013, 4:05 PM edit delete reply
Strap Tank on as armor?

"This isn't an underwater campigain!"
If only RD knew what Pinkie has in store for her groupmates the next time...too bad she won't be there...

I'm half expecting the chosen pet to turn out to be a griffon.

You know where this is going.

My friends warlock can get away with pop culture references because he's a Fay-pact warlock, and so hallucinates all the time and is insane. Even HE doesn't get the references he makes.
_R_ 13th Oct 2013, 3:48 PM edit delete reply
Have you gotten to "Luke, I am your father" yet?
kriss1989 13th Oct 2013, 4:28 PM edit delete reply
kriss1989
Nope.but to date he has referenced Dr. Who, Star Wars , Star Treck , 300, Pokémon, MST3K, MLP:FiM, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Spider-man, numerous Mel Brooks films, our other campaigns, 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Care Bears, Fox News, and Spongebob Squarepants.
_R_ 13th Oct 2013, 7:51 PM edit delete reply
"Star Treck"
And the c and the k button aren't even cloae to each other....
I actually did something similar on a MMORPG, but a lot less crazy (I think.) To put it simply there was a Level 9 Priest named Twilight Sparkle killing the nearby vultures.

That kitten is not Dire in the least! It's a Dore if anything. Well... It's ABLE to be a Dore... It's aDoreAble.

A Dore? I thought it was ajar.
Mettaur2 14th Oct 2013, 8:04 PM edit delete reply

THIS kitten is A jar.

Oh I get it, she wants a Dire Tortoise. Aka the center of Wizard Polymorph abuse, with its "Always act in a surprise round" cheese.
Dugong 15th Oct 2013, 12:13 AM edit delete reply
I think the pet Rainbow Dash is looking for is the 'Fleshraker', essentially a velociraptor with poison.
