Can't say I haven't had this kind of moment, myself...

This is a rare page where the screencaps and panels were selected first and the dialogue was written second.

Similar poll from last time but with a slight change.
Celestia and Luna gives you the choice of being as big as a dragon, with all the finesse you need, or as small like a mouse, with all the spells in place. For example if you get stepped on, you will just get flattened and be okay the next second.
Me: Still be as small like a mouse.

I'd need more information about all the spells. Can I cast magic, or does it just mean I won't die or really get harmed?

At first glance, I'll take the mouse though. I figure it's better for me fitting in with pony society. I can live with Fluttershy and she would find me amazing and help take care of me while I adjust.

EDIT: Also, I second Derpmind's comment :)
Digo 2nd Mar 2014, 8:52 AM edit delete reply
I too would like to know if "All the spells in place" mean you can cast magic. Because then why not use a spell to make you pony sized? Or into a pony (like Twilight used on the mice at the beginning of The Grand Galloping Gala episode?

Hmm I'd go for mouse sized, especially if that square/cube law is in effect, that makes tiny people Jump Good right? I'd mess with everypony, "haha Twilight I have swapped you and Rainbow Dash's toothbrushes!" and then I scurry away and hide in the endless curls of Pinkie's mane, while I plot my next scheme.

Hmmm I think Discord would be the one giving you that choice (Post season 3 discord)
I would still go with mouse.

That it wouldn't really be scared right? Isn't the enemey they're after in this case a type of ghost that's been in an infernal prison for a long time? So what it would find scary wouldn't be the same as living ponies.

Although we can all see the true birth of fear coming.

At least she's not repressing it, keeping her boiling rage hidden from outsiders while secretly plotting her revenge, one step at a time, slowly setting up the fall of everyone around her until she rules alone on a throne of love and friendship, and all will bow before her beauty.

Not that I, nor anyone I know, would ever engage in such an activity. >_> <_<

Oh, this has happened to us, on at least two occasions.

First was when we fought a wizard who was trying to release a demon so he could make a deal with it. We killed him, went through the door and killed the demon, and then went back to town. Eventually, I got geassed into leading the party to an otherwise abandoned tower, the details of which are in one of the previous pages. I managed to correctly deduce that the wizard we'd killed was in fact a lich and that he was behind the geas.

We did manage to kill him again, but we ended up with his phylactery without knowing it, although that worked to our advantage and now even more recently we've pretty much dealt with him for good.

The other time was while we were trying to clear our names of charges of regicide, and the number of times that whoever was actually responsible seemed to be one step ahead of us, to the point I was just one step away from dropping all attempts at subtlety and just cutting down anyone who got in my way.

Sorry to get in your way ANW, but I too have questions that would somehow benefit other/my life. If the mane 6 were to disappear and no pony knew where they went, but you, and you had to find others to fill the gap, who would you select, keeping in mind they have to be of the same breed (Pegasus=Pegasus)?
Subspace_Lani 1st Mar 2014, 2:28 PM edit delete reply
Hmmm... difficult, but I think I can do it.

Rainbow Dash -> Derpy
Fluttershy -> Cloud Kicker
Applejack -> Carrot Top
Pinkie Pie -> Doctor Whooves
Rarity -> Colgate/Minuette
Twilight Sparkle -> Lyra Heartstrings

I know they're all background ponies, but they're important background ponies.

I go off fandom incarnations for this, so don't hit me over the head with canon, please.

Derpy's pretty loyal, Cloud Kicker seems nice, Carrot Top is a farmer and has a no-nonsense attitude, Doctor Whooves, don't get me started on the reality-warper stuff, Colgate is one for (dental) hygiene, and Lyra... okay I picked Lyra because everyone likes her and I would totally watch a spin-off with her as the lead.
JackTheGreatOfPojo 1st Mar 2014, 5:44 PM edit delete reply
wouldn't Twilight's replacement have to be an alicorn?
Specter 1st Mar 2014, 6:35 PM edit delete reply
NO! All I can say is that it really should be a unicorn, mostly because I don't really like alicorn twilight that much, also because I prefer the even split of all the breeds.

Subspace, nice choices. I should probably cast my votes anyway.

Apple Jack -> Apple Bloom
Rainbow Dash -> Scootaloo
Rarity -> Sweetie Belle
Fluttershy -> Ditzy Do
Pinkie Pie -> Aloe or Lotus (Can't tell which is which)
Twilight Sparkle -> Trixie Lulamoon
ANW 2nd Mar 2014, 4:38 PM edit delete reply
True, plus the fact that their's only so many alicorns doesn't help.

Going by canon as opposed to fanon...

Rainbow Dash -> Thunderlane
Fluttershy -> Bulk Biceps
Applejack -> Bon Bon
Pinkie Pie -> Cherry Berry
Rarity -> Lyra
Twilight Sparkle -> Sparkler

Thunderlane shares Rainbow's laziness, Bulk is into flowers, Bon Bon is aggressively anti-deception, Cherry Berry is a budding comedian and can fly just like Pinkie Pie, Lyra is over-emotional like Rarity, and Sparkler is sarcastic just like Twilight.

For a short list, me on a bad day, already ticked off, and tired of playing a crumby campaign. 1 v rest of party, and I win cause they don't know how I fight, despite being the backbone. Summon the last boss, and feed whoever it is to my ethereal pit beast. Win, and a loss of respect. Ehh... they still love my campaigns.

I have an evil character for you. She was a drow wizard with the power to summon strong, young succubi and incubi. Long story short, she researched binding spells and permanent summonings, and basically enslaved a few hundred succubi and incubi. She then forbid any of them from sucking souls, and used them for manual labor. She also rented them out for any purpose, and I do mean ANY purpose.

She was also a sadist, so she turtured her slaves regularly. When she finally died, things became very bad. All those slaves, starving for decades, driven mad by torture, and knowing nothing but cruelty and slavery for the past twenty years are suddenly just released from their servitude. Given back their free will and unleashed on an unsuspecting material plane. An army of ravenous, shapeshifting, violent psychotics just set loose to run wild.

E'nn Raice was an evil one, huh?

Okay, I posted my story. Back to my game! Hee hee!

EDIT: Man, maybe doing a hard mode blind run was a little ambitious while going for 100% completion.

Just read through the 'exams'. Odds are the guy I had in mind would only have had an impact on the ‘Trial of Do Your Worst’. For the 'Surprise me' part of the trail, Greater Good would have freed the imp, used whatever abilities he had to convince it (By whispering so the judges or the party wouldn't hear) that the source of all its problems was that one judge and that there was only one way to deal with it.

At which point he would give the imp the flaming chainsaw and hurl it at the final judge (using what bonuses he had to assist the imp's first strike).

Beauty of it is, no matter the outcome, it can be safely said that the judges would be surprised.

Not really 'evil' per se, but entirely threw the GM off when my character uttered it. First I must set the stage: Mass Effect universe, with Halo, Transformers, and... I forget what else, thrown in. The PCs were a mix of Mass Effect aliens and humans/droids from Halo. I played an asari ex-Spectre, one of the other players was a Quarian engineer who unintentionally gave her life for the god of the universe, while the rest of the crew made it back to Citadel space, so, we were in the wrap up of 'completing' the GM's plot, and he points out that the quarian would go insane, stuck in a parallel dimension for umpteen billion years, unless we went to save her, but we'd killed the 'Reapers' (the Transformers, basically) and my character, hardly having said two words throughout the plot, clapped her hands as if to clean them, and said, "Acceptable losses." The GM stopped, looked at me funny, and went, "Did you just hear what DC said?"

Yeah, I'll bite. I was playing a Bard in Pathfinder, with more of a focus on dextrous combat. That said, he was still a devout follower of Shelyn, the party's primary healer, and a generally nice, charming man.

He was also a Tiefling, and had a few fundamental wires crossed. He didn't really 'get' mercy or compassion, and only had that rush of endorphins that people talk about when he was turning someone into a canvas. Using their blood as paint. He also had a trait so that he didn't take penalties for dealing nonlethal damage, and in fact dealt bonus damage for taking the nonlethal route.

Did I mention this was in a mostly Chaotic Good party, and he was skirting the line between Lawful Neutral and Lawful Evil?

Cut to a Bandit group harassing these lovely people that we're all very fond of. The farmer's wife serves delicious stew, and the farmer is so proud of his son that it hurts. Regardless, these bandits come and collect taxes every month. We...decided that the situation had to change.

Well, we trounced them in combat. And thanks to my nonlethal shenanigans, three of the five are still alive. So I ask for the party's donkey, a few hours of personal time, and promise that I'll have the location of every bandit camp they know of within a few hours while being as vague as possible about the 'ritual' I needed to perform to get the knowledge from their minds. After all, these people are scum-the kind you're 'allowed' to hurt, because they made the willing decision to prey on the weak. And if we don't get this information, nice people like the farmer and his son will get hurt. That's how good guys work, right?

It was the first time I'd played an evil character, and I didn't realize that one could go a few steps down the evil alignment by casting Cure Light Wounds. (Granted, it was after shoving a knife between the guy's second and third fingerbones, with the intent that he would never be able to pick up banditry again...)

Incidentally, he's still the party's main healer. And voice of reason. It's a very weird position, being an innately evil person that's trying to be good, like an ape trying to mimic humans.
HappyMuffin 1st Mar 2014, 12:34 PM edit delete reply
I might have already posted this story but...

So we were playing a quick, one-off game of Cathulu Dark. The party consisted of: a half mad, Tesla like scientist; A private investigator who knows of the ocult; and me, the hard-ass, owner of a gingerale plant who hired the others. Not only was I evil for not caring about my worker's safety and being a greedy, self-centered jerk, but I was also evil for attempting to summon the elder-god of gingerale in the first place.

It was a very, very silly game.

Heh. I was toying with the idea of Raxon getting complaints about his excessive violence, and agreeing to use nonviolence. He then inventams a weapon known as the carinogenerator, a little plastic ball that explodes with a silent burst of intense light. It also has the side effect of rendering victims unconscious. Also, he creates the rehabilitator. An electric chair refitted with a full sense immersion helmet..it has a 95% success rate at reforming criminals. The other 5% come out as utter raving omnicidal maniac psychopaths so violent they have to be put down. The change people expresss when leaving the chair frightens people, because it rather resembles the outcome of a lobotomy. The people are slow to answer, soft spoken, and call everyone neighbor. They are unfailingly polite, though.

One of the JL decides they want to see how this machine works. Raxon volunteers to strap himself in, and they watch on a monitor as he meets Mr. Rogers. "Hello, neighbor. It looks like you've done some bad things, but that's all in the past now. Are you ready to learn to be a good person?"

Raxon says, from inside the session, "Please note for the record that by the time you see this, I have spent nearly a day here. I will experience time at a rate of roughly one day here for every minute of real time, allowing for much more expedient rehabilitation. This session is being played for you at a much, much slower speed than I experience." "Very good, neighbor. Would you like to learn the rules about crossing the street?" "Yes please. I would be delighted." "Good. That was a very polite answer. You'll do just fine if you keep that attitude. Now, remember to always look both ways before crossing, and..."

And for reference, yes, Raxon does throw a big switch while laughing maniacally in order to turn the chair on. People in the chair twitch and jerk around, as though receiving electric shocks.

Convincing a man to put down his gun and dive under a bus is also nonviolent. Nonviolent does not mean appropriate for kids to see.

It's already been decided that by the end he's gonna look like a skeletal dragonman, but I'm finding more and more temptation to make him turn on the party at some point. The combination of Bloody Tears and Jagged Smile, Necrotic Claws and Frightful Aspect just make me wanna be the final boss.

A couple sessions ago, my Chaotic Evil (Chaotic Neutral, before I hired the alchemist to assassinate the sorcerer) tried to convince the rest of the party to try and wipe out a small city. On the other hand, it was a drow city, so I suppose at worst it comes out as Neutral... on the /other/ hand, though, it wasn't out of any specific desire to rid the world of the drow, just general bloodlust and sociopathy.
