Any stories about playing both hero and villain at the same time? And not necessarily from the DM's point of view?

Also, there's finally a new session of Mawlers Take Manehattan! And it's almost the end of September, which means our last player will be back from vacation and we can resume Fallout is Dragons soon!

Does it count if they're both the same character?

One of the other players in a campaign I was in a couple years back was playing as two dwarves. Except... not actually. I'm not really sure how he ever got the DM to agree to it, but his backstory was that the Dwarven twins - a Cleric and a Ranger, if I recall, of diametrically opposed alignments - had been team treasure hunters and had found a cursed ring which somehow ended up showing both of them into the same body, or something to that effect.

Basically, it wound up that whenever the DM told him to, he'd switch character sheets and start acting completely different. It... didn't go very well, and they ended up BOTH getting murdered horribly, but nevertheless, it was a thing that happened.

So... I'm guessing it would count, yeah.

I remember one player had a character with a dual personality. He'd flip the character sheet over if his personality changed.

I vaguely recall someone having a character who had something like six personalities, each with different classes and feats. There was a special die used to determine which personality he was, used at the start of each day in game.

I have no doubt there was at least one villain in there.

Dual personality character seems very interesting.

I was a chaotic evil serial killer who was in a life debt to a good druid for saving my life (when I was chased by authorities who got a few good hits on me which caused me to start bleeding out when I lost them). Throughout that adventure I was the only one who was morally allowed to kill without provocation (or, who my "master" said to not kill, plus provocation for their demise made my desire for it that much greater, i.e. corrupt official, or a person who wanted my master's head, something like that).

In the end, the druid did have to kill me, sort of, when they found out how many people I killed, and who I was. It was fun, would do that again.
