It's easy to have a favorite type of character to play, or to rag on others for behaving certain ways. But over many, many campaigns, we are encouraged and driven to experiment and try new things, even stuff we'd made fun of before. And if anyone's going to joke about it, it's going to be the people who've been there with you the whole way.

Maybe you guys can expand on an idea of mine.

"Past these woods, the enemies are wrong (strong)
Even when you kill them, they don't stay down long
You must beat them in one fell swoop
Or defeat their souls, so they don't get you"

But how do we do that?

"To beat the soul, use your sprite with-in
And then, one on one, you must win
Do so, and they stay down
They won't rise up, to cause more frowns"

Okay, let's get going

"But head this warning, you do beware
While your sprite fights, your body is bare
You can not move, nor defend
A solid strike will be your end
Return to your body with-in time
And you won't be left in grime"

How did that sounds to you?
I was going for an old classic mystic like with it
Can you guys understand it?
Think I might need to make some changes?

When you saying "sprite" do you mean "Spirit" ?

That's what I meant, thanks.

The meter is a bit off, but for a Zecora character it sounds more or less right. It sounds like the party must divide between those using astral projection to fight the (ghosts?) or attack enemies souls while others guard the bodies from physical enemies. Make sure the party is actually built to accommodate this kind of challenge.

You got the idea
And it is attacking the soul, but other spirits would work just as well.

I usually try to do something different with every new character, be it trying out a different class or race or personality or background or what have you. From the dark and mysterious spellthief Azriel Nightingale to the altruistic yet short tempered cleric Taiyth Akamiir, I find it helps keep my interest in a game when I'm not trying to play the same thing every time.

Of course, I seem to have hit a snag lately. I mentioned a little while ago that I was in the process of writing an FO:E fanfic. Well, around the same time I started writing that, I was invited to join the FO:E game I'm currently in. I wasn't really given anything, background wise, to go on when I was trying to build my character, so I just did my best to fill in the holes in the group and picked what I thought was fun for the rest. It wasn't until I got my GM and one other player from that game to read through my fanfic when I realized, to my horror, what I had done: The main character of my fanfic and the character I was playing were the same!

Well, not really the same. They were different enough to be their own pony, but they were similar enough that we would accidentally call my game character by my story character. Though, to be fair, I never though I would ever be in an FO:E game at all and so my story character was basically the character I would have played if I had the chance.

Still, this bugged me to no end and I made it a point to do everything I can to make the two as different as possible. After having our first session after a two month hiatus, I think I'm on the right track to doing just that. Time will tell if I succeed or not.
