DM: While that's… going on, it's Rainbow Dash's turn.
Rainbow Dash: You're in for it now: Rage Strike!
DM: ...I don't know what to tell you.
SFX: (BONK)
Rainbow Dash: Arrrrrrgh, COME ON! I thought I was free of the stupid dang curse!
Applejack: Got another trick, Pinkie?
Pinkie Pie: How'd you know? This is why I cast Unluck earlier! I get to reroll that attack for you, aaaaaand… That's gotta be a hit!
DM: Okay then. There's no way Isabela's not bloodied now.
Rainbow Dash: YES!! AWESOME! I was totally skeptical about you going all Prescient-themed, but boy is it paying off!
Pinkie Pie: That's nothing. Just wait 'til you see what I've got on my next turn!
Applejack: Care to share with the class, Pinkie? So we can, y'know, strategize?
Pinkie Pie: If you insist! It's a little something called Compulsion. Basically, I'll control all her movement! And I know just what I'll do with it!
DM: That's not how that works.
Rainbow Dash: Even if it was, the thought of Pinkie with domination powers…
Applejack: "You slide the target 5 squares"… "cannot take move actions"… "save ends"… Actually, can Ah hold mah action until Pinkie does this?
You see why I wanted to use the full sequence, even though it was much much bigger than I ever expected? So I could show off, among so many other things, a mesmerized pegasus-rogue Isabela donning a top hat and tap-dancing on a decorative railing?
Notice: Guest comic submissions are still open until this arc is finished! Guidelines here.
Hello my Baby
Hello my Honey
Hello my ragtime gal
Send me a kiss by wire
Baby my heart's on fire!
If you refuse me
Honey, you'll lose me
Then you'll be left alone
Oh Baby Telephone!
And tell me I~'m your own!
How'd you manage that? I thought I was pushing it with my diplomancer warlock with +11 at 1st level...
(I talked a wererat into becoming my minion, and a dedicated mercenary into abandoning his contract with an organization that tends to make traitors and failures disappear.)
Pinkie Pie's player either isn't into lewd, or has no problem keeping it away from this table. (Though if you go by shipping charts, the only one who would have a problem with it would be the DM.)
I don't ship most ponies. It's much more likely that Friendship is SO strong in Equestria that lifelong "Straw Hat Nakama/One Piece" level friendships are the norm, and that most relationships are platonic.
Except three ships: 1: Flash Sentry Pony and Twilight, because the fanart makes them ADORABLE together.
2: Flash Magnus and Rainbow Dash. They just get along so well when on screen together, and they have different interests/life paths, but similar strengths.
3: Trouble Shoes/Derpy Hooves. Because it's also an adorable and charming ship.
I cannot for the life of me remember why or how I thought this bit up. I don't even remember doing any of it except the top hat, Rainbow's tongue, and the lollipop pendulum.
Yeah, but it's never outright said or called out in the show. Nor do any RPG systems bring it up with any mechanical notation (few if any just say "accept it, move on"). Would have given Earth Ponies a solid ability, rather than vaguely defined powers.
Except earth ponies hardly ever do it in comparison to unicorns. Objects that require hands to use are clearly an example of subtle and entrenched unicorn privilege.
I think the other explanation is that pony hooves are literally magical "magnets" that function similarly to fingers and hands, though not as dexterous.
I really like this page, especially with Pinkie being ridiculous enough to force her enemy to dance in a top hat and cane, and also for Pinkie making sure that Rainbow gets hits in, despite her horrid dice luck.
