Playing up aggravation for humor is something I consider part of the job when I'm DMing. It results in a lot more check-ins of "Are you sure that wasn't over the line?" from my good, self-aware players, but I'm almost always fine.

There's a kind of fun from troublemaking and feeling like you're breaking outside the box, so if I can satisfy that need for that kind of fun for a certain kind of player while still remaining mostly in control, I'll gladly play it up for their entertainment.

It also helps that sounding annoyed comes super naturally to me.

In other news: Check it out, I finally made a Show Transcript button for every comic page! It only took eight years of not knowing how CSS works! And the comic navigation dropdown box has little headers for the episodes and intermissions to break up the wall of numbers and titles! I'm on a roll!

Notice: Guest comic submissions are open! Guidelines here. Deadline: January 27th, 2023.

I love that roll without the confirmation of whether it worked. You just know that's gonna come up as a fail five sessions from now.

Digo Dragon
Or a secret Insight check for the villain to figure out what the PCs are really planning to do.

Yeah, CSS is probably witchcraft.

I'm definitely an authority on this as a primarily backend developer who has never had any reason to learn CSS.

There's something about sausage curls that both fascinates and repulses me at the same time. I've never figured out what it is, but I find Shirley Temple-esque characters very suspicious...

I have long opined that a creatures cuteness is directly proportional to its capacity for evil. As evidence, I cite: Cozy Glow, Kirby (seriously, he appeared in Death Battle fighting Majin Buu, it's a fun episode), and the seven cats I've lived with over the course of my life. I think your instinctive wariness regarding Shirley Temple curls is related to this principle.

IIRC, Kirby was supposed to be another of the monsters plaguing Dreamland, but something went screwy and he ended up eating them instead.

So, he might actually have a capacity for evil, it's just that he very fortunately forgot. Or maybe evil just tastes good, who knows.

No, quite the opposite. Kirby is a Star Warrior, but an infant. Insanely strong, and good natured, but...childish.

"Capacity for evil, but forgot." That's pretty much Goku's backstory too. He took a huuuuge hit to the head as a child.

Probably doesn't help that a lot of modern media loves that trope too, evidenced by things like Hoodwinked, Lilo and Stitch, and given the nature of shirley temple lookalikes, the film Cats Don't Dance.

And then you catch up on a webcomic you lost track of for a while, and realize you're sad because there's no more of it. Ahhhh well. Loving it!

*Optimus Prime voice* "Cozy Glow must be stopped, no matter the cost"

Now I just want to see a video of "Touch" put to the Mane 6 using the elements, or Twilight's DBZ style fight against Tirek.
