How to make your villain obviously evil? Give him a goatee. Everyone knows goatees are evil.

Spock sported a goatee in the original Star Trek pilot episode. Paramount asked him to shave it off because too many people in the initial screening felt he looked like the devil. XD

Which was proven when he wore one for the Mirror universe episode. which he turned out to be the least evil of all the Enterprise mirror universe counterparts.

Unless that is the plan of the GM, they think the Goatee one is the villain and they ignore the real villain

I have a goatee. oh shit, am I evil?
torquelift 11th May 2019, 4:12 PM edit delete reply
The evidence certainly suggests that.

Yaks are definitely bigots, and proud of it. :p
Borg 9th May 2019, 8:34 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, but at least they're "Yaks best" bigots rather than "Non-yaks worst" bigots. There is certainly a difference.

Plus there's Alan Rickman, who goes through the movies very much clean shaven.
Gamemaster80 9th May 2019, 6:24 AM edit delete reply
They probably didn't want him to look like Hans Gruber with emo hair lol

Movies have a way of establishing canon in the minds of many even where they disagree with the books, let alone on matters the books did not clearly address.

Book illustrations are saddly not always representative of the book. The first covers for the Discworld books had characters who didn't look like how they were described in the book at all, not to mention of dubious quality.

Beside, I'm quite certain if Snape had a goatee, it would have been mentioned. His facial features are described more than once.

It seems safe to say that Snape has, at most, an honorary goatee.
FanOfMostEverything 9th May 2019, 12:21 PM edit delete reply
Snape has a goatee of the soul. Which is not to be confused with a soul patch. Or a soul patch of the soul.

Digo Dragon
More like a Sour Patch of the soul.

I blame an artist for making me always look into a characters shape theory in live acting and cartoons.

Once you start seeing those, you can often go with the "Ah, he's the real villain." or "Thats how they might do that."

When you can turn friendship into a rainbow canon that can turn gods to stone maybe you should be more careful who you teach it to, both Dragons and Yaks have shown violent tendencies and changelings only recently turned good. Hippogriffs are fine tho.

He seemed more like Jafar kind of mixed with Snape
