Author: GreatDinn

Guest Author's Note: "And that's Equestria Girls! 63 pages (69 if you split the doubles, I suppose). I'm being a bit twee here, in that this page is...kinda sorta also describing how my process with this went. I've never done anything like this before, so this was really an eye opening experience in a lot of ways. I definitely don't think I nailed this, and already see several ways I could improve. And I do want to improve! But I also don't want to impose or ruin anyone's experience with Friendship is Dragons proper, because regardless of your opinions on my work, I think we can all agree that Spud runs a damn fine comic.

So this may continue some day. It may not. That'll depend on what you all want, what Spud wants, and whether or not I can follow through on being better. I guess what I'm saying is: much like the real Equestria Girls, you can safely ignore this. : P

But seriously, thank you all so much for reading this lengthy guest arc. No matter if you loved it or thought it sucked hard core, I really do appreciate those of you who read and commented. As I mentioned a billion times throughout this comic: communication is key! It's not always pleasant, but actual communication can only improve things. Thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Friendship is Dragons."

Newbiespud's Note: When GreatDinn pitched this guest arc, neither of us quite predicted it would get this long. But I'm glad it did. To say the last few months have been rough on my mental health, that I've needed a bit less work on my plate, would be a severe understatement. And to have someone come in as a guest for an entire arc, taking over comic duties for so long, that was new and challenging for both of us. I was happy to facilitate and guide it, and I hope you'll join me in thanking my friend Dinn for his help, service, and hard work.

Anyway, time for me to take back over. Next up is A Canterlot Wedding!

Notice: Guest comic submissions are open! Guidelines here. Deadline: January 27th, 2023.

I have a theory: Our GM has been telling GMing stories in the comments of a comic that reimagines their favorite cartoon as a D&D game, which Sunset GM and her players also happen to read.

Also, since it's obligatory in my book, first post. Probably.

"I definitely don't think I nailed this, and already see several ways I could improve."

To be fair, that also describes the first Equestria Girls movie.

In any case, I greatly enjoyed this. Thank you for it, Dinn.

I'm sure he'll really hit the mark for Equestria Girls 2: Judgement Day.

FoME, does your "E" also stand for "Everywhere"?

And Yes, GD, I'm also looking forward to you continuing this someday in EqG2.

You did good, Dinn. And it's nice to see that it helped Newbiespud so much.

Well, considering the discussions in the comments were mostly speculations on how it would unfold, or commentary on expectations on how things would/should/could happen in real life, I'd say few of the flame was ever directed at the comic proper. I think the only genuine criticisms were the ones that said some of the events that you tried to describe or present weren being made all that clear. Other than that, it was a good run.

We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when. But I know we'll meet again some sunny day.

Stylistically different, but thematically right in line with everything I enjoy about this comic. It's like the real Equestria Girls in more ways than you said. Bravo. This was just what I needed.

I think this whole guest arc was very well done, and I expect I'd enjoy an eventual continuation of it for Rainbow Rocks.

Thank you for all your excellent work, GreatDinn, and I hope to see you return for a future guest arc.

I liked it, and I'd read further adaptations of the EG movies / shorts to the FiD universe!

So we're moving on to the wedding then huh? Coincidentally, the fanfiction "The Changling of the Guard" just began the lead up to the wedding as well, and that particular development has been six years in the making.

Thanks Dinn! I’ve been reading this whole arc under the assumption that it would be considered a canonical part of the story, so I have no intention of ignoring it—you did a fabulous job!

So, rediscovered this comic still going after I dropped it around the Dragon Shy arc. Brings a tear to my eye to see you still truckin'.

Anyway, I hope that we see The Other Group someday. I'm interested in seeing how the Guest Author adapts Rainbow Rocks. Though I admit that's because I love the Dazzlings.

I personally can’t wait for Friendship is Dragons guest arc Equestria Girls 2: Electric Boogaloo

Hard to believe this whole arc was fan-made. (Well, not that Friendship is Dragons wasn’t already a fan project — I mean this was a fan-made thing made by a fan of a fan-made... you all know what I mean.)

Basically what I mean is: kudos, GreatDinn.
