Rainbow Dash: ...and that's why Rarity owes me a life-debt!
Rarity: ^Oh, why am I not surprised you haven't let that go...^
DM: Aaaaaanywho, how about Pinkie Pie?
Pinkie Pie: Sure! Bring on Miss Fancy Pants!
DM: Worth noting that *Mister* Fancy Pants is currently away on business.
Shining Armor: Ha! Of course.
Princess Cadance: Quick question before we get into character: Is Pinkie Pie always that energetic? Like, right out of the gate? I don't have a problem with it personally, but for my character...
Fluttershy: Oh, yes.
Applejack: Pretty much constantly.
Twilight Sparkle: Try stopping her.
Princess Cadance: So Cadenza is going to be annoyed immediately.
Pinkie Pie: Only if she hates positivity and fun!
DM: It can be overrated.
Nine years to the day. The ninth anniversary of Friendship is Dragons.
I think it's hitting particularly hard because it's 2020, when there's plenty of time to look back over one's life. It's going to be weird when the big 10th anniversary rolls around and it feels less ridiculous than the 9th. Maybe because of the way this bookends how the calendar decade began for me.
I haven't been "successful" with a lot of things in my life, but when it comes to this webcomic, my ability to keep doing it, and the fact that many of you are still reading it, I can't help but think that in this one area, at least, I am overflowing with luck. So thank you.
And I'm proud to be making progress growing into a role as a producer of more RPG/gaming content as well. We just launched a pony cyberpunk campaign, Shadowtrot, and the first edited episode is live today!

There's also Warbot in Accounting, How I killed your Master, and some other one... All of which seemingly died when he put all his focus on Atomic Robo...
The fact he will never make a sequel to 8-but theatre is depressing to me.
Congrats on 9 nine years! I have enjoyed this comic immensely, ever since the early days of the cast trying to figure out how this campaign works, the old Raxon posts, the first time you put together the Fallout is Dragons campaign, and then the wonderful guest comics and all that. Quite a lot of content!
Pinkie Pie is the embodiment of positively energetic. In such excess, it's so irritating. Reminds me of my elementary school self, the happy-go-lucky fool... Emphasis on both happy and fool, but not so much lucky.
It's not just luck Spud! You're doing a great job of keeping us around by giving us such meaty morsels to chew on every few days.
Not to mention as wild as this year is, routine fun like a comic I've been reading for almost ten years (and doesn't follow current events in the real world), is one hell of a sanity anchor. While I'm not an essential worker, I still work in the trenches of healthcare, so things like this are a soothing balm. Keep it up!
Happy ninth, Spud. It's been a long while, but, if I remember correctly, this comic is what got me into the show in the first place.
Here's to the nine year so far.
Thanks for all you've done with the comic. I only recently found out about it. I had watched MLP back when it came out but stopped around season 3. Your comic got me motivated to go back and check out the later seasons, and I'm glad that I did since I think I enjoyed them more than the middle seasons. Especially the addition of Starlight to the cast was a delight and s7e10 is now my favorite episode.
Interested to see where you take the comic in the future and if we'll have another Blueblood-style addition to this arc's climax.
Congratulations on 9 years! I started reading about 6 years ago, and this comic was one of the final pushes I needed to finally get into D&D 5.5 years ago at the start of 2015. Now I've played in so many campaigns and been a DM running my own weekly game for three years running. I still check in on FiD every week. Thanks for helping to bring something great into my life!
Thanks so much for 9 years of making this comic, and congratulations! I've greatly enjoy reading it for the last 4 years or so and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you'll be doing next.
I'm sort of a burned-out pony fan. Mind, I don't regret the memories, there's a lot of fics I still count as favourites... and I always come back to read this. The use of 4E, especially when everyone I read pooh-poohed it, made it extra poignant - it was my first edition. Congrats on a whole nine years.
