Yeah, I've pretty much just been waiting to use those two screencaps of Twilight's big evil smile. Sue me.

But before you do that, we've got another session of Shadowtrot up for your listening / viewing pleasure!

Any story when a player ask (or signal) the party to "Throw them under the bus"?

I had one game where we were summoned to Bhaal's realm and told to work for him, and that he needed one of us to be his champion and wielder of the Regalia of Evil, which in this version each one made you evil and more corrupt in different ways.
Most of the party jumped on the opportunity, whether out of fear or greed, and instantly switched their alignment to evil. But...I felt it was out of character for my LG almost-pacifist monk to agree. I told the group IC I would not agree but OOC I was fine with being evil, and they pinned her down and forced the first of the Regalia of Evil on her.
It is kind of part 'throw under a bus' and part 'make her the most powerful'. The first one made my switch from hating causing others pain to obsessing over it, and the second made me speak only in lies. I do not recall us getting the third...

I also got in that game a gauntlet that gave 500% healing to anyone who touched it. They would heal to full...after exploding and reforming 5 times through immense pain. I wore a glove under it.

I want to say I've only seen this once, and it was the Persona 5 gambit.

Never had a situation where a player wants to be thrown under the bus. It is a very... Out of the box strategy. I do kinda see where Twi is going with this, but I doubt I'd go for this plan.

Given the tech level of MLP, shouldn't that be a carriage or chariot, rather than bus?
Digo 24th Sep 2020, 7:20 AM edit delete reply
Funny thing is that in the new Pony Life series, we see a bus. So who knows anymore?

Next page, we find Rainbow Dash is totally down with this plan.

This is pretty clever, actually. Get to find out the villain's plan to dispose of troublemakers while leaving the rest of the party in place. Twilight's distributing her eggs to a couple different baskets. I like it.

Is she trying to get Celestia to....? Hmn, hmn. Shall wait and see.

Can someone explain what Twi's trying here to me? Because other people seem to understand but I'm baffled.

To me, it seems that she’s covering for her friends by making it seem like they don’t share her suspicions. This way, even if this confrontation doesn’t work out for Twilight, they’re still free to act.

the words "none of you" are bolded, and so highlighted. In the last panel the rest of the group is wondering if she is suggesting that they act like they don't believe her either

I dunno if you should do that, Ms. Sparkle.

Reverse psychology almost never works.

I definitely need to re-watch this episode. I don't remember these screencaps at all.

It works here, but the comment form is not showing up at the lastest comic.
Can you fix this?
