There's an extremely high density of Good Rarity Faces in this episode, my goodness.

Got another Spudventure up today!

I have to think that Rarity's player has sketches prepared for that dress. Possibly including that expression on Rainbow Dash.

It's Rarity we're talking about.

She definitely has that face down for RD in in her sketches.

When I played a Rarity-like character, I certainly made fancy dress art for everypony. Also fancy armor since I was primarily a magic arms and armor crafter.

She was shown earlier on to be able to sketch designs between rounds of combat... She's had the entirety of the session with the wedding being a topic to have even come up with options for every pony in the game! (Possibly even including dressed for Shining, if he was interested.)

A barbarian being a cute distraction.
First time of everything.
Digo 11th Nov 2020, 5:17 AM edit delete reply
First time? Hey, some of us might be into the big strong barbarian type. ;)

Some characters and variants lead to an Uncanny Valley effect for me. Flutter Brutter in the previous strip was one; this is another. Brrr!

The Gilligan cut, always works.

Also, the obligatory link.

Side note because I have had the thought in my head for weeks now and need some excuse to tell people about it: I ended up watching a video of a fan doing a drawing of G3 fashonista Dash and there were honest to goodness G3 pony fans in the comments. Not that I doubted it, but given the way bronies blast that iteration in particular, it was weirdly...convicting to be reminded that there were kids who grew up with that version as their MLP and were attached to the characters enough that some said they were 'heartbroken' when Rainbow was turned into a Tomboy in G4.

I loved Rarity in this episode too, even if her plan didn't pan out.

I actually expected the link to go here. XD

This also is appropriate.

Honestly, I expected it to go here, myself (CW: TVTropes)

Well now I feel a tad embarrassed as I confess I’ve just been sitting on the opportunity to post that G3 gag the second I saw Zephyr Breeze in armor :P
kimjongunbabbies 10th Nov 2020, 10:48 AM edit delete reply
Fluttershy likely doesn't want to volunteer because Zephyr is sleazy as grease. Oh, and also because he's her brother.

And now I'm hoping that our favorite unfavorite guard will, in fact, NOT be distracted by the sexy just for subversion's sake. Then again, there's a litany of reasons why the guards must always* be crazy in fiction...

*For the most part.

Nat 20 on a Persuasion roll. It's gonna be either hilarious or extra hilarious. Given some of the expressions Dash gives, though, she could roll so badly that the guard ends up monologing and they succeed anyway.

On the one hand, barbarians being hot amazons is a common enough trope

On the other hand, that getup is /so/ not taking advantage of this fact AND said barbarian is working off a 10 Cha
RuBoo 11th Nov 2020, 6:56 AM edit delete reply
Oh, I’m sure that ludicrous outfit probably grants some small bonus to Cha, or something...

To quote a fellow GM I know,

"It's not how good the outfit looks on the character, but how good the outfit looks at the foot of the bed."
