Zephyr Breeze probably isn't going to be Fluttershy's brother in the Friendship is Dragons continuity. Which means if he ever comes back, he's gonna be that royal guard who flunked out and remembers crushing on Rainbow. So... kind of the same, actually.

New Shadowtrot episode is up!

Come on, many guards keep drinking and sleeping during the job, at last Zephyr is awake, is not much but is not the worst

1) I was "singing" to the theme to the podcast "Worst Year Ever," with the lyrics replaced, based on the title of the strip. There's some exaggeration to fit meter and such.
2) Drinking and sleeping on the job are bad, obviously, but they generally don't involve leaving your post altogether! An inebriated guard still sitting at their post has a better chance of doing their job than a completely sober dude who walks away because he wants to impress someone!

What about one of those guards that appear in novels that torture and laugh at the prisoner or let themselves be bribed to look somewhere else while the prisoner get a 'special' visit?

Worst guard, in this case, is not "most morally reprehensible," it's "an abject failure at the designated task."

I thought what I typed was a joke, not the entry point to a philosophical discussion. D :

There is nothing on the Internet you can write that can't be taken as the entry point to over-thinking or as a reason to judge you. :)

Speaking of judging, since no one else has done it, yet... "how dare you-!" ;p

I kidding. But guarding spaces is a pretty boring job. I think if it were me, I'd be fawning over a blue pegasus who took interest in talking to me.

He could still be Fluttershy's brother. She wasn't present to recognize him here, so that relationship could still be inserted later.
