This is the epitome of "It's Pinky Pie, don't question it."

Pinky's face in that third panel is unnerving. Like she's struggling with some sort of trauma to get through that part of the song.

Or trying to keep a certain royal secret.

Such as from, or seeing the results of, the unlicensed doctors which is why she summoned her friends to investigate?

Especially in combination with that fourth panel.
Digo 20th Apr 2021, 9:23 AM edit delete reply
Cyberpunk settings often have plenty of unlicensed doctors that the party goes to. Because the licenced ones have to report bullet injuries to the police, and that's unwanted questioning for the PCs.

Hehehe, out of curiosity: are "absurdly unlucky results of rolls" a thing? Or is a Cartoonish Unluck not a thing usually allowed by the rules of cyberpunk?

"Ooops! I accidentally have sewn your friend's head onto a monkey's body! Sorry!"

Anvildude 20th Apr 2021, 3:01 PM edit delete reply
Not quite that cartoonish, I'd say. More along the lines of...

"So the good news is that your friend? The one who was missing his left leg? We successfully gave him a robotic leg."

"The bad news is that we gave him a robotic RIGHT leg."

Or perhaps brain-switching due to viruses or neural backups getting switcheroo'd. Or, like, a dude gets build into a moped somehow.

So cartoonish, but not quite Looney Tunes cartoonish.

Really depends on what system you're using, and the tone of the table. Like if you're playing Paranoia, all bets are off.
Wulfraed 20th Apr 2021, 7:56 PM edit delete reply
Based solely on what I've heard from players of Paranoia, any form of gambling is likely to be considered against the "norm" by the computer.

(to Frere Jacques)
Paranoia, Paranoia
Are you sane, Are you sane
Someone's out to get you, Someone's out to get you
Run away, Run away

Yeah, it varies a lot depending on the tone everyone agreed to. Could be a minor cartoonish thing like your cyberware plays pop-up ads for cat food for a day. Complete with jingle.

Now I have a vision of an alternate history, in which McDonald's has become a world-spanning pharmacy chain...

...them dealing with dubious chemicals is not so much of a stretch anyways.

The truth is almost as crazy-- McDonald's is primarily a real estate corporation. Selling burgers is more of a side hustle when you look at the company's income.
