Well... at least this earworm killed the previous one I had; the unofficial lyrics to Dr. Mario.

The entire sound track for "Buffy: The Musical", or whatever that episode was called, has been running through my head since they returned to Ponyville. I am half expecting to find somepony *really* excited that the cleaners got a mustard stain out.

Once More With Feeling

Don't forget about the attempt to negotiate out of a parking ticket...

I've been having a bad, bad day.
Come on won't you put that pad away.
I'm asking you please no,
It isn't right, it isn't fair.
There was no parking anywhere.
I think that hydrant wasn't there!
Why can't you let it go?
I think I've paid more than my share.
I'm just a poor girl, don't you care?
Hey I'm not wearing underwear!

Man, sometimes the music on this show really went hard. Winter Wrap-up was basically the straw that made me a brony.

If the stories are true, that was the case for a lot of people over the course of seeing the show. Honestly I was sold when I looked at the show's lore and took away the 'pony; element and looked at it again and I was very impressed with what was there. (And also stole a few of the big opener/closer stories for D&D games.)

For me it was Briddle Gossip's "Flutterguy" singing the evil enchantress song. Because I saw it without context and I had to know what the hay caused that kind of setup. XD

Same here. Came for the explosions, stayed for the music. It seems like the vast majority of kid shows have really awful music because they think kids don't know the difference. Not only did fim have great music, but it had fresh and varied music. Ingram is a master of writing new music in different recognizable styles, so you know what it's referencing even though it's new. For example Smile is a Jive, a very energetic type of dance which is a great fit for Pinkie

One of the adjacent beliefs to the animation age ghetto is that belief that kids will watch/listen to anything and quality doesn't matter. There is a little bit of truth to it, in that kids will put up with a lot of garbage simply because they haven't experienced anything better yet¹.

When some creator breaks from the mold and makes something better than anyone else, you quickly see that quality does matter when it comes to kids. (One of the things that doomed the Saturday morning cartoon blocks was that by the late '80s you had to compete on quality and thus things were getting more expensive.)

1: This is also what leads to concepts like the "suck fairy". One of the risks in going back to that thing you loved when you were younger is that it will turn out that it wasn't good, you just didn't know what 'good' really was yet.

...For me, it was the part of the fandom that overlapped with the stereotypical side of the furry fandom. Can’t help it, Fluttershy’s just so... Adorable!

When FiM went for it, they nailed it. "This Day Aria" is approaching Disney levels, Magical Mystery Cure was a complete musical in one episode and "In Our Town" is the snappiest cult recruitment song I've ever heard.

Might get me run out of town, but I always hated the singing sections and skipped ahead through almost all of them.

Songs in-character are safer to do in text games than in voice. Some players might not be in the mood; in text games, they can just skip or skim the song (and do not have to listen to certain enthusiastic but untrained and off-key voices).

That said, this was a smart move for Pinkie. There was a certain energy about the town that could easily have fed into amplifying chaos. Pinkie has safely tapped and released it, preventing such escalation.

Unless your group of friends is actually trained in music, in which case live is more fun

Anyone want to bet that they stay all night awake waiting for 'something' to happen, but nothing happen?
