Sometimes nothing you can do will convince another player that the NPC is not sus.

Heh, guilty as charged. Though, in my defense, some of the others in my group were WAY more aggressive with their suspicions.

Depends on the NPC and how they joined the party. If the party 'adopted' them, especially at the DM's protests, they are not sus. If the DM hoisted them on you they are always sus. If the DM just made a GMPC and always does that...they are 50/50. I almost always do GMPCs (though keep to extra rules to make sure they are not leading the party), and only one time actually had them as an infiltrator with strong connections to the plot type. Though rolling them up as characters could make them as infiltrators otherwise, but as much as any character.
