"Over Niagra Falls in a barrel" is a well known tale in certain circles. According to Wikipedia, thousands of people have gone over Niagra Falls accidentally or intentionally, but so far only 16 have survived.

Also, I think today's entry is a play on the Crate Expectations trope.
