Twilight Sparkle: roll
DM: Yup, your arrows are very distracting.
Twilight Sparkle: Is everyone out of the room?
DM: Everyone but you. Speaking of...
roll
DM: Well, at least the bad luck is localized to summoning Tiamat.
Twilight Sparkle: Let's not test it any further, then!
Applejack: Yer map seems to end at this next room, Spike. That drawin' in the center of it anythin' we can use?
DM: That's the castle's oubliette.
Applejack: Great! The hay's an oubliette?
Twilight Sparkle: It's a secret dungeon with access only through a trapdoor in its ceiling.
Applejack: Well then, let's git it open!
Rainbow Dash: Why'd you have that memorized, Twilight?
DM: With your combined efforts, it's quite easy to open the trapdoor. You can hear Tiamat slowly approaching from the hall behind you.
Rainbow Dash: Okay, so we opened a giant hole. How exactly are we gonna get her to fall in, ask nicely?
Pinkie Pie: Don't be ridiculous, Dashie! Fluttershy showed us peace was never an option.
Not mentioned was that traditionally those dropped into an oubliette were just left there and ignored... They weren't used as prison cells, but as disposal dumps...
Didn't Twilight typically put her lab in the basement (it was in the old Oak) (of course, that now raises images of Viktor von Frankenstein)
It's also possible that she's seen a certain 1986 Jim Henson movie starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. There's an oubliette in it, even though they give a slightly different explanation of what it is.
Isn't this, diegetically speaking, an Ogres & Oubliettes game? I'd expect Dash to never bother to learn what one of those words means, but AJ I'm not so sure about.
The last time she encountered French, she stated "My sister is speakin' in fancy!" It felt in character to me after remembering that, but I definitely had the same initial feeling.
Yeah, time to put a Dragon in a Dungeon.
And Twilight knowing to much about Oubliette raises too many questions...
Well maybe she plays the Pony version of Crusader Kings II....
Wait,, This make things worst...
I see. I'm curious about why this intermission is so long, as I remember it was supposed to be short. No offense intented, I'm simply not into that one, so guess I'll just come back in a month or so.
No offense taken! I totally get it. Not everything is for everyone, and I know my style of writing is pretty niche as is. As far as "short" what I meant was "It will be shorter than my Equestria Girls arc," which was 62 pages long. This is going to be around half that length. There were fewer guest submissions than usual this time around, so I wanted to make sure Spud still got a nice break between arcs.
Guest Author's Note: "It honestly says a lot about this show that they did their best to put a dragon in a dungeon in the very first episode."
