DM: The changelings were repelled with the power of pure love... which gave Twilight Sparkle an epiphany. Deciding that the best way to test her theory was with exceptional adversity, the party returned to Ponyville. Or rather, one of Discord's many alternate-universe Ponyvilles.
Discord GM: Intentionally?
Applejack: Yyyep.
Discord GM: Hmmm... Impressive. It looks like you ponies /have/ learned some lessons after all.
Pinkie Pie: Like what?
Discord GM: That sometimes you have to /embrace the chaos./
DM: And as for the results of that trial-by-fire... Well, let's leave that as an upcoming surprise, shall we?
Discord GM: Sure, sure, why not? I would be quite the hypocrite if I were to undercut my adversary's *big reveal.*
Any stories about throwing yourself into a dangerous situation, not necessarily to resolve the situation itself but to gain some kind of secondary or overarching benefit?
...Is that too specific or too commonplace? Let's find out!
Notice: Guest comic submissions are open! Guidelines here. Deadline: February 20th.
I go to work everyday based on this very issue. I need money to pay bills, the job gives me money. I don’t do the job for the job itself, no matter how much it helps the world be what it is. A couple decades ago, I attended a police academy for similar reasons. I never became a cop, but the secondary benefits of passing with excellence were more important.
…School isn’t dangerous… At least, it’s not supposed to be…
…Ah, let’s face it, if school didn’t exist, school shootings wouldn’t exist, and the world would be that much of a better place…
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher, leave them kids alone
Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
I think a lot of what makes Discord the player seem less likeable is Discord the character. He doesn't really have many frames where he isn't metaphorically screaming smug and condescending, and that reflects on the player.
I personally also just really dislike Discord as a character, but that's just me.
Yikes, seems like discord’s a bit pissed about last time, even if he doesn’t show it. Let’s hope he’ll be alright with the shape of this session, however it may go.
I definitely have a feeling that it's going to come to something. I don't even have the vitriol for the character like some people did in the last session but it's very evident he doesn't like being outplayed and outmatched, and that's certainly on the cards
Well there is the side-quest to earn more EXp and items to help to complete the main mission/quest so not a strange strategic to do this,
And for Discord's case he will learn that dangerous side-quest gives wings to some characters.
