Twilight Sparkle: Well, if Discord's going to give us an opening, I say we take it!
Applejack: If yer sure, Twi.
Discord: Heh heh heh... What do you have to lose?
Rarity: He's worked *very* hard to delay this. Given how the Elements work, wreathing us in Harmony, the antithesis of chaos... I don't think there's a weakness that Discord can take advantage of there.
Rainbow Dash: We can always go back to Plan D20: Roll Initiative.
Discord GM: Ah yes, combat with a god of chaos, where the rules are made up and the Health Points don't matter.
Applejack: We were already prepared for the mother of all gimmick fights.
Fluttershy: Given how the session just started, I don't think this is about to end here...
Rarity: And he's too proud to leave center stage without a proper climax.
Twilight Sparkle: Then let's find out what his deal is! Girls, take formation!
Pinkie Pie: *WAIIIT!!!*
Applejack: What's wrong?! Didja figure out Discord's plan?
Twilight Sparkle: Is there something we missed?!
Pinkie Pie: Just wanna get ooone last sip of chocolate rain...
Twilight Sparkle: ...Of course.
Discord GM: Ahhh, I think I'll miss you the most, Pinkie Pie.
If the villain seems cool with you firing your superweapon, it's probably a good idea to at least double-check your work...
That "where the rules are made up and the Health Points don't matter" line was scrapped from a previous page, and I almost just tossed it into an Author's Note to forget about it, but then I decided I would be committing an injustice if I didn't use it somewhere.
I almost feel a twisted version of the Blade Runner quote coming on...
... ah yes...
I've seen things you ponies wouldn't believe... dancing pigs flying in formation... I've tasted chocolate rain in the sunshine near Ponyville. All those moments have the substance of wedding vows to a bard... Roll for initiative.
I really like these comments, I could read them all the time
And end things with a word that's not impossible to rhyme
We all know these comics have been a lot of fun
But I think Discord is really Clive Anderson!
That Discord is a mean one, he really gets my goat,
Just last week he turned my brother into a stoat.
Yet despite that, I really can not lie,
I find I am much more afraid of that Pinkie-Pie!
The Discord Arc that we observe is always such a blast,
And we love to see the pithy jabs made by the whole cast,
But there's just a tiny little thing about which I'll complain,
A glass of it exploded, yet Pinkie drank the rain!?
When Discord came to Ponyville it was a crazy time
But what do you expect from Chaos that is alive?
But for all the chaos that did happen in the game
The real chaos were the friends we made along the way!
Haven't watched Whose Line in ages, but have been listening to John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme a lot, so I'm thinking more "Since you asked me how the ponies got out of this one..."
Yeah In a battle against A god of Chaos and in any Bard versus Dragon "encounter" hit points don't matter...
And i also suspect the players plans will be different from what appears and we soon see pics from Keep calm and Flutter on
So... Anyone want to share a story about how they are about to fight a boss but they are stopped by one of their friends or allies because a very stup... (cough) I mean, a very important reason? Just like Pinkie Pie stopped the team for a last sip of chocolate milk rain
I'm almost expecting DM-Discord to take the dive that he hinted at back on 1610 just to mess with everyone. Let them be all hyped up and "whoops, looks like I underestimated that power and now I'm a statue. Short session, xp for everyone!" just to get a reaction out of them.
My guess is they will successfully turn Discord to stone, then we'll get either a time-skip or he'll get better. Alternatively Discord will zap everyone to a future episode...
After reading all the comments I’m still amused to think that after Discord is defeated there’s still one pony out there that wakes up every morning, goes to the kitchen for breakfast and asks his brother the stoat how he slept. :3
