Arguably, on an aesthetic level, one of the smart things Friendship is Magic did to appeal to a broader audience was give the magical friendship rainbows some heft and weight, make it shake the ground and the screen when it's active, really make it feel like someone was being captial-S Smited by the power of Good. Plus, everyone loves a good explosion.

Wonder if that "Well…" at the ends suggests the DM is going to say "Well, you've encased Discord in stone again, so in that sense you've 'won'. But what about the next time he escapes in the future? Are you just kicking the can down the road?"

Personally the audio used for the friendship rainbows was what really gave them some oomph for me.

They never had the big, explosive kind of sounds you would normally associate with big blasts of power, instead using lots of shimmering and chimes that gave a feeling of subtler, softer power, but tuned in a way where they still sounded like there was some actual, genuine power behind them as well.
