Plant monsters tend to slow-creep-sudden-surprise-attack type unless they're being spurred on by a controlling intelligence. Which, from what little I understand about plants and nature, seems fair enough.

Yeah, plants aren't exactly designed for a great deal of tactical complexity or, you know, mobility. Photosynthesis is far from the most efficient energy source in the world.

But at least it’s the most sustainable. 100% guaranteed to last until the heat death of the solar system.

Well, guaranteed to last until the expanding sun boils the oceans and strips away most of the atmosphere, anyway. After that it gets difficult to source the raw ingredients.

Also, you know, the most reliable with far more independence than other modes of living.
Doesn't require, you know, annoying company such as hosts or prey you have to rely on. Just need raw nonorganic ingredients and light.

Pretty sure one of those ingredients happens to be carbon dioxide -- sure, some of that comes from volcanoes, probably forest fires... an critters with blood...

Assuming no supervolcanos, nuclear war, or other events that would block sunlight for sufficiently extended periods.

Not quite: Most forms of photosynthesis will fail long before then due to changing conditions.

I'm pretty sure biting an evil thornbush is not the smartest thing you can do at a time like this.

I like that element.

I sort of feel like we're lucky to have lost Raxon before panel two here was posted.
NobleCuriosity 30th Sep 2022, 7:10 PM edit delete reply
Yeah, agreed.

It cost you zero dollars to not post this so why did you?

My friends and I still laugh at that one GM who created a band of gorillas that used a harness with a pully to come down from trees and attack us, and then think pullies are too hard a concept for us because he didn't want us to take the harnesses and use them. Session ended in a frustrated GM leaving and we are pretty sure that only made life better.
