Still kind of amazed that we're doing this sequence from the show now. "But Spud, aren't you the one who wrote and planned this arc?" Well, you're half right.

Notice: Guest comic submissions are open! Guidelines here. Deadline: January 27th, 2023.

“Half right”? Is there a guest author, or are you just referring to screen cap constraints?

I'm just referring to "planned" being a strong word.

I take it you are treating this just like a author handles a book where they design a story and the characters, and while they may plan for things to go a certain way... Things change when the character's actions and motivations are put into consideration which may change the direction of the story if not the end destination.

A guy I read will sometimes do 'green room' scenes with the characters in his stories.

One of them was along these lines:

Character: "Hello, I'm here about the ongoing supporting role."
Author: "The what? All I have is a walk-on for someone to escort Devlin to the hangar bay."
Character: "That's the one!"
Author: "???"

(Yes, she did stick around as a character and Devlin ended up with two beautiful and dangerous women in his life.)

What book?

The "How much time[...]?" Bit reminded me of this:

"There were some... accidents."
"What kind of accidents?"
"This kind that you call them... accidents."

Time just enough to build some tension because what is a game session without some drama.

Well, it took about a week (freakin' ADHD and distractions), but I finally caught back up again after so long! What a trip to read, especially since I never got into the show. Newbiespud, your talent for getting the dialogue just right for the screenshots and a D&D campaign is obvious in every single page. Thank you so much for all your effort.

Thank you! Always happy to hear from someone after a marathon through the archives.

In the recent session of the Sunday game I run, the party had met the "monster" that was at the center of the adventure for the first time. I got just one sentence worth of description of this gaunt, dark creature before the rogue nailed it between the eyes with a lit torch. And rolled a 20. Ah ha ha ha...

...my kingdom for a little bit of tension in my scenes. XD
