DM: Zecora stops just past a field of unnaturally blue flowers. She turns to face you and says:
Zecora: You pony folk, you have not fled.
If we won’t fight, let’s talk instead.
Rainbow Dash: Oh, great! Another poet.
Zecora: The timing couldn’t be better.
I need test subjects now more than ever.
Twilight Sparkle: Wait, what?
Zecora: The experiment will now begin.
Tomorrow, please find me within.
Do not be too alarmed, my friends.
It should all make sense in the end.
DM: As Zecora finishes her speech, she steps back into the fog of the Everfree, effectively disappearing from sight.
Apple Bloom: Did y’all understand any o’ that?
Applejack: Ah think we all got the gist o’ things at “test subjects.”
Mental image: Zecora on a castle rampart, framed by lightning in the background, yelling "After all the work I took the dive, my masterpiece is now ALIVE!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA"
Also, I feel the need to mention my Alchemist who's trying to invent "Cure [X] Emotional Wounds" potions again. One of my favorite characters I've ever played.
The best "alchemist" I had ever seen was a dwarf sorcerer in Dark Sun (where magic is bad) who got the feats to wear heavy armor and wield a mordenkrad, and whenever he wanted to cast a spell, he threw a vial of colored liquid (i.e. Acid Orb was a green flask). The Dm wasn't aware that he was a sorcerer for several weeks.
Akouma, I once had a character whose life-long goal was to create The Eggoat, a creature that is half-egg, half-goat, whose meat tastes like beer-basted roast bear, and whose fur-like shell(or shell-like fur) could be ground into a sort of cool-aid that makes beer instead.
The Eggoat would have been native to the elemental plane of beer.
That character shared that goal with the other psion philosopher in the party. (Yes we made two different characters with the same class, goal and ridiculous obsession)
We sadly never managed to do it before the game ended, but that crazy random weirdo was just so much fun to play.
Poll time:
Out of the mane 6, who has the best poison joke.
A quick guide. Pinkie's tounge swells. Twilight's horn becomes floppy and unuseable. Applejack becomes the size of an apple. Rainbow's wing is on backwards. Riarty's coat becomes a big mess of curls. And Fluttershy's voice is pretty deep. Hightest vote gets the prize.
Flutterguy takes it, although Rainbow's was actually fairly clever. I didn't even notice it until I saw it for like the third time and just thought the PJ messed with her flight instincts.
Seems to for Fluttershy, and it would boring to have a landslide winner, so how about 2 votes this time. That way at least 2nd place can have a close call winner.
Ok, if we need to have a second, I'm going with Rainbow Dash's upside-down wings. I love how awkward they looked, and they made for some amusing crashes. The best part is: Dash would have been completely unchanged, if she would just stay on the ground! (yeah right)
I gonna use my vote in a uniqe way.
While Fluttershy voice is fine,
Is not as good as wine.
Applejack's my favor of all,
Because it is funny being small.
The other one who make laugh til I rashes,
Is Rainbow's backwards crashes.
If there's one thing you learn early on in English class, it's that 'true' poetry usually doesn't rhyme...
I like it better when it does though (;
And I have no idea how this interpretation of Zecora is going to turn out. She's my favorite side pony... zebra... outside of Derpy though, so I'm willing to wait and see how Dr. Zecora works out.
BTW - Dr. Zecora...
Reminds me of Dr. Death Ray, my Dr. Horrible-inspired PC for a Pony Tales campaign I'm playing in right now... Yeah.
then we'd start seeing art of Zecora as Zer0. dude speaks in haiku around 99% of the time. and yes i'm aware none of this comment is poetry. i'd rather not insult Zecora by trying, and absolutely epic failing.
btw, anyone else think the combat talents in Pony Tales need level requirements, maybe race ones too? a pegasus summoning a fire giant... how does this make any sense? let alone at level 1?
No, don't start that here
Or else the comments section
Will needlessly swell.
I'd take it to the Pony Tales forum if I were you, but I wouldn't expect much luck - pretty much anything is justifiable if you change the flavor, and the people over there are working on increasing options, not restricting them.
I'll sum it up simply:
It allows for people to pick what they want without worrying about what would be "Better gameplay".
That and it's full of reflavoring.
One fire giant I know of was a sketch in a sketchbook brought to life, and another was a tornado of flower petals.
Yet another one appeared differently to everypony, represented to each of them as their worst fear. It's creator needed to avert her eyes when she cast the spell.
I believe she renamed it non-euclidean horror, or something to that effect.
Rainbow Dash's would have my vote, being nicely ironic and hilariously slapstick.
Except...uh...Spike's name for that PJ syndrome is 'Rainbow Crash'. Then we see the episode where that's what the Cloudsdale bullies call her and, um, I then picture the two of them having a 'talk'.
Naw, dawg. That's not how the Bow would work it. She'd be all cool, like "Hey, Spike, that nickname hurt my feelin's, yo. But it's good, I know you weren't aware of the bad vibes I got from it. Just don't do it again, ye?"
Okay, I think it's story time!
Recently, I read Darths and Droids. My favorite player was Sally, especially with how she kept derailing the campaign because she enjoyed being creative so much.
Those of us who've DMed...has this ever happened to you? If so, tell a story about it.
I find it amusing that Luna - who has less total screen time than Zecora, or any other character in the series with lines - but has greater fan following than any other character in the series.
There's a difference between screen time and significance. People like to examine Luna because it helps define their understanding of Celestia (the show's primary mentor figure), Equestria, harmony, and at least one of the current element bearers. They're understandably confused when she's nowhere to be seen when Celestia sounds alarm, and we're given no explanation for her absence.
As for why she gets more time than Celestia, the latter understandably makes a lot of authors nervous. It's why you're more likely to see alternate universe versions of her (the troll, the tyrant, or the deviant) than as herself. She is not perfect, but her people see perfection reflected through her. It's not easy to deconstruct that. (The author of "Princess Celestia Hates Tea" did a lovely job of it in a short comedy, then rebuilt it nicely in a sequel revealing Twilight as the original's author.) It's still more difficult to display her role faithfully without bogging the story down in boring administration and such. (Another comedy did a pretty good job of that as well, but it was more about the bureaucracy itself, rather than the princess. Sorry I can't recall the name.) Luna affords people more leeway in how they handle her.
For a long time, Luna had that advantage over a lot of background characters. She was absent for so long than there was little fear or writing something about her that could be contradicted within another two episodes. By the time of Luna Eclipsed, the foundation of interest laid proved adaptable enough to refit much of it around "canon".
It helps to remember that this isn't a contest, let alone cash prizes. There are riches to be found in exploring any of these characters. (For example, have you ever considered how many times Big McIntosh has many things worse by opening his mouth? We've seen that at least once on the show.) If people are too busy looking elsewhere to notice what you've found, that's their loss.
Hey, my original comment discussed much of what I like about Zecora and Big McIntosh and maybe a few other characters. That ran a few more paragraphs in an already lengthy entry, so it got cut.
I'd say more, but that kind of makes its own point, you know?
She would have to be an alchemist: There is no sign of her having a familiar and witches are one of the three classes that can't trade away their companion.
name not sound familiar? well it should hes been voicing cartoon and animated charactors From Gigabyte (Reboot) to Flutterguy (present MLP) ^_^ this has been fun facts
As annoying as that might be to some, I'm actually enjoying myself. Writing poetry is a unique way to stretch one's writing abilities.
