Timmy's trapped in THREE wells?
Digo 6th Jun 2013, 6:01 AM edit delete reply
Well, well, well...

"Idea! God princess! Save her! Easy!"

"I appreciate your faith in me, Spike, but I'll sit this one out, thank you."

"I don't like getting my hooves dirty."

This is why Hasbro stopped making the pink Celestia doll, you know. It was giving a certain Elizabeth Bathory vibe to people who saw the character as a white mare.
Dave 6th Jun 2013, 10:15 AM edit delete reply
You obviously didn't listen. Those three wells AMBUSHED Timmy!
Zuche 6th Jun 2013, 1:13 PM edit delete reply
You linked the best character defining moment for Bree Three-Hands, Digo? Bless you.

Were they led by a gazebo?

... we're gonna need a new Timmy.

One these days, _R_ , I may have to watch that show.
_R_ 8th Jun 2013, 5:16 PM edit delete reply
Well, it's one of those rare Nickelodeon shows that get at least a 8 on the 10 scale. Pretty good.

Time for Celestia to scold them about splitting the party...
Kian 6th Jun 2013, 6:05 AM edit delete reply
What are you talking about? Rarity's right there in the third panel? ;)

"Next time, on Friendship is Dragons:"

Derpmind 6th Jun 2013, 6:12 AM edit delete reply
And thus begins the very prolonged changeling side-plot, which everypony but Twilight ignores.
Digo 6th Jun 2013, 6:15 AM edit delete reply
Haha, yeah, so she is. It could represent that she's at the table, just not with the party, IC.

Reminds me of those instances the party is split and someone in group A has to snark in character at someone in group B.
Every time I have to say "Your character isn't there", I deduct exp points.

Zuche 6th Jun 2013, 9:09 AM edit delete reply
If you have to say, "Your character is dead," is there an alternative penalty that works? The potential for XP loss doesn't seem to mean as much under those circumstances.
Digo 6th Jun 2013, 11:42 AM edit delete reply
I knew I could count on you to find just the right flaw in my plan. ;)
Tatsurou 7th Jun 2013, 11:23 AM edit delete reply
I actually remember one game where dying was a step up for my character.

See I was playing a barbarian, complete with all the usual rages and what not. However, when I got offed, it was because a dragon ate me. But I didn't want to roll up a new character, so I convinced the DM to let me haunt the a "Ghost" style ghost.

I had all the same stats, except I was classified as ethereal, and I could use emotional energy to create ranged attacks of surprising effectiveness. Also, I could only be seen by other ethereal beings...and I could level up!
Other Guest 6th Jun 2013, 6:16 AM edit delete reply
Oh never mind. She already escaped. No problem after all.
Lyntermas 6th Jun 2013, 8:16 AM edit delete reply
Look, a busy pony like Rarity can't be everywhere at once. Important engagements sometimes conflict, alibis are required, etc. So she just sets her dummy up in the town square whenever she goes out of town to do errands.
Other Guest 6th Jun 2013, 9:02 AM edit delete reply
AJ: "So she set up a cardboard Rarity in the middle of the street? And it's fooling ponies?"
GM: "I know, but she rolled a natural twenty on bluff."

Wow, I must've been REALLY tired when I put this comic together.

Well, as much fun as everybody's having with this, it's a mistake and a paradox I can't quite explain away. So... the comic has been edited.
Zuche 6th Jun 2013, 10:38 AM edit delete reply
You... she... Rarity... gone... comic... erased...SAVE HER!
Tatsurou 6th Jun 2013, 10:54 AM edit delete reply
I believe the tip of Rarity's horn is still just visible over Fluttershy's mane.
Digo 6th Jun 2013, 11:45 AM edit delete reply
I find it hilarious that the edit nearly took out AJ too. :3
Other Guest 6th Jun 2013, 12:11 PM edit delete reply
You should have just drawn a beard and moustashe on her.
Raxon 7th Jun 2013, 2:51 PM edit delete reply
A moustache and glasses is a much better combo.

Not that I have any experience with this, mind you.
KiazerBrony 6th Jun 2013, 10:10 AM edit delete reply
no a pair o socks, much worse
Wyvern 6th Jun 2013, 3:58 PM edit delete reply
It could happen. I expect you know that there's a brown stallion bearing an hourglass cutie mark who fans have dubbed Doctor Whooves.

There's a moment in "Winter Wrap Up" (s1e11) when we see him at the end of a line of ponies in the foreground headed left. No problem, except that there's another line of ponies in the background headed right; the stallion at the end of that line is also Doctor Whooves.

am I the only one that doesn't see her in the third panel?
Raxon 7th Jun 2013, 12:22 PM edit delete reply
Look closer. She's right there.
Digo 6th Jun 2013, 6:08 AM edit delete reply
You know, now that I look at that third panel, I feel like photoshopping a little sigh on the ash pile with a picture of a troll face.

I remember an old campaign years back that was basically a sequal to Final Fantasy VI. There were rumors that Kefka's old cult didn't completely disband so the heroes all banded together to flush them out.

In one fight we had our backs to a waterfall as a pair of the BBEG's behemoths were curbstomping us. The party decided that rather then surrender to the monsters, we'd jump off the waterfall.

The GM didn't expect that. Less expected is that we all survived the fall.

Next time, on a very special episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Dragons...

"We are diamond dogs! You steal life gems!"

"Life gems?"

"Gems keep diamond dogs alive. Holds cancer at bay."

Because it's sweeps week, and we really need the ratings.
Rokas 6th Jun 2013, 11:04 AM edit delete reply
Fido: "Brother ponies with red hair tell us gems are crystals! Crystals have healing properties, yes!"

Twilight: "Uh... No, that's an idea in Homeopathy, and that's been proven to be a ridiculous hoax designed to take the money of fools."

Fido: "...So, magic healing water also no work?"

Twilight: "Ugh." *Facehoof*

The Letter M
I'd recommend making a new avatar for the comic. i'd never given it a chance because I didn't realise how nice the real art was.
Rokas 6th Jun 2013, 10:52 AM edit delete reply
Ya know, just once, I'd like to see either Celestia or Luna save the day in a deus ex machina (in the actual show; obviously not here in the comic). Though I do admit it was rather vindicating to see Celly get her plot handed to her by Chrysalis, I still wanna see them actually do some whiz-bang action.

...What? Oh, right, this is a comment section for the comic. I, uh... really like her mane?

I have a feeling this is going to set up a running gag where Rainbow Dash (and her player) doesn't(don't) get any credit at all, even when she(they) deserve it.

And I wonder how things go from here? Will we see a majority of the Diamond Dogs episode, or will it end quickly because the night is coming to a close and everyone needs to get home and sleep for their mundane jobs in the morning? Or maybe the GM will end the game right after he has Spike tell the PCs about Rarity and call it a night because he/she (I still envision the GM as Lauren Faust) has a dungeon to map out?

Anyway, it will be interesting to see.
terrycloth 6th Jun 2013, 11:35 AM edit delete reply
Lesson Zero

Celestia's best spell is 'Dispel Magic'. She's probably technically a Bard or something.

A 3.5 Bard, since she learned her magic millennia ago.
Rokas 6th Jun 2013, 1:13 PM edit delete reply
Bah, that doesn't count because nothing got its butt walloped.
Malroth 6th Jun 2013, 2:36 PM edit delete reply
Hey don't Knock a 3.5 bard, an optimized good aligned 3.5 bard can make an army of lv 1 commoners capable of 1shotting dragons, and an evil bard deal enough DPS to take out the planet by lv 9.
Namagem 7th Jun 2013, 6:22 AM edit delete reply
@terrycloth: But she's obviously ridiculously high level because it hasn't failed yet.

You know, I totally have plans for weaponized popcorn that is devilishly clever. If you've read the immortal game, it uses something similar to Twilight's iron laser, except it uses popcorn in butter.

Now, the butter gets hot from the friction, so what happens? The popcorn pops. What happens when the popcorn pops?

It gets hot oil everywhere!

This is a Raxon weapon. It's terribly effective. The results are remarkably painful, yet amazingly delicious.

And so, Twilight must make a choice. Will she tell her mentor and Princess the truth or join the dark side? Find out on the next episode of Friendship is Dragons! To be continued this Saturday! Same Time- Same Channel!

For some reason I always scan'd the DM as male. Probably something to do with having start'd this comic in the middle of Darths & Droids and the DM is the only character that didn't already have a voice. It wouldn't matter except halfway through this page I start'd reading the DM in Celestia's voice, which makes somewhat more sense for the group. This calls for a reread.
Tatsurou 7th Jun 2013, 11:25 AM edit delete reply
So...Celestia is running a D&D game for Twilight and co...playing as Twilight and Co?

You mean these are the Equestria Girls doing D&D?
Wyvern 7th Jun 2013, 4:20 PM edit delete reply
The players are female, so I always figured the DM was too. As long as the ponies don't start their own D&D game in the comic everything will be fine.
Tatsurou 7th Jun 2013, 5:30 PM edit delete reply

Twilight and friends are playing D&D with Celestia as DM, and they rolled up humans!
