Another Fallout is Dragons coming your way! This one turned out to be pretty hilarious, if I do say so myself.

I think that last panel breaks the fourth wall for some of us.? I know I've been in games with a sleepy GM. Those can get pretty weird.

Like somehow convincing the GM you rolled an 8 on a d6 for damage without question.^^;
aerion111 13th Feb 2016, 6:08 AM edit delete reply
Actually, they don't necessarily have to be sleepy to do that.
Get the tone of voice right and state it bluntly, and they'll be inclined to accept it as true at least for a moment - they might be able to realize it sounds weird afterwards, but it's not guaranteed.

But I've been in one-shots where everyone involved has had less than six hours of sleep in three days.
One of which I'm not convinced I didn't hallucinate; I played an RPG that turned out to only exist in card-game form with VERY different rules, AND it was supposed to be a 'continuous' campaign I jumped into the second session of but there was no sign of the game the next year.
Whether it was a vivid dream or real, let's just say that it got crazy and generally bizarre enough that me using the phrase 'there's more than one way to skin a catgirl' entirely literally was not quite the peak.
The (very rambley) point being: Yeah, without much sleep, stuff gets weird.
Digo Dragon 13th Feb 2016, 7:59 AM edit delete reply
Digo Dragon
Maybe not necessarily, but when the GM is starting at the d6 you just rolled and you say it's an eight even through it's showing a 3? Sleepiness helps to trick that GM. ^_^

last "sleepy GM" session my group had wound up being attacked by a hive mind of cyborg-zombie-piegons who were raiding all the bread factories in the city.
Borg 13th Feb 2016, 10:33 AM edit delete reply
Under the circumstances, I'm not sure that "piegons" is a typo. I'm enjoying imagining geometrical pies that are also zombie cyborgs.
albedoequals1 13th Feb 2016, 10:41 AM edit delete reply
You guys seem to be implying that you know of cases where the GM *wasn't* suffering from lack of sleep.
Winged Cat 13th Feb 2016, 3:36 PM edit delete reply
I try to get enough sleep. Heck, the session I ran today, I almost overslept, waking up only 25 minutes before session when I'd planned to wake up at least 2 hours before. Fortunately, one of the players was late, and I'd already done most of the necessary prep.
Digo 13th Feb 2016, 9:16 PM edit delete reply
There was a reason I had caffeinated drinks chilled on standby every session. XD

Sleepy - or drunk - players are also pretty amusing.

Look up the story of "the storage capacity of the Elvish backside", I believe it was called.
Dragonflight 14th Feb 2016, 12:04 AM edit delete reply
My favorite sleepy GM moment was watching in another game when the GM tells the group they come to a T intersection, and one of the players says, without missing a beat, that they go straight.

The GM immediately picks up and continues the adventure for about another ten minutes before stopping and turning the map around a few times, trying to figure out how they jumped past an entire section while the group is killing itself laughing.

Single, and potentially 'aromantic' - the details are personal, suffice to say I'd need to try a non-long-distance relationship to tell for sure.

You're not alone there, Dragonflight. I'm painfully single myself. It probably doesn't help that I tend to be thick headed when it comes to love and women.

I like Valentine's for the beheading and giving chocolates to everyone (family, friends, students). I make brownies.

Nobilis game: we're all demigods enshrining various concepts. Mine is Ninja, another is Temperature. There've been hints of shipping between said PCs ever since Ninja's daughter was rescued from the mortal world and Temperature stepped up to help raise her.

Temperature is...let's just say, she can hear the Light in her heart, and Ninja is not quite that far though his heart rejects the Dark. This was a problem recently where we needed someone Dark-attuned to open a lock. A NPC volunteers to (temporarily, he says) tweak Ninja's soul a bit, opening him up to the Dark.

Ninja agrees to it out of necessity (since the thing beyond the Dark lock is threatening their home base, including his daughter). After the process, he winds up kneeling to Temperature, calling her his master. He trusts her to protect his soul when he can not trust himself.

Then it turns out that while you need Dark to see the lock, you need Light to actually unlock it. Temperature can not see the lock, so Ninja takes her hand and guides it. They wind up not releasing hands - not as in "never bothered to note", but both players occasionally note how they are still holding hands - for more than a session afterward.

Then there was the game where a set of orphans had been raised together, and were starting to go on adventures (the core PC group; the adventure started when a few other PCs came to town). The first few sessions included mini-dates as the PCs figured out ICly which ones they viewed as brothers/sisters and which ones they wanted to shack up with. Two of the pairings from that lasted for the entire multi-RL-year-long game, with formal marriages in the epilogue.

Then there was the princess, whose idea of a date was to take her suitors and go on an adventure to save their kingdom. It turned into a double, arguably triple, date when other PCs tagged along with the same idea (and an overlapping set of suitors).

It's happened enough that I've been accused of always trying to pair my PC up with another PC in the group. That's not true - I've been in several games where my PC has no romantic intentions - but the accuser's only been in games with me where it happened. (And sometimes it just comes up: for instance, Ninja did not think of Temperature that way until Temperature stepped up to be a mother for his daughter.)

I have two, both previously mentioned.

The first is Doc Wagon (my avatar) falling in love with (and this is the GM's words) the daughter of a viking general. Had a bit of a language barrier at first, though she actually knew "common Equestrian". She just seemed to have been traumatized and didn't start speaking until Doc earned her trust.

The other is Reuben Rye, developing feelings for a pegasus businesswoman named Calamity. Unfortunately she's currently possessed by an ancient serpent demon bent on regaining her full power so she could be a Tirek-level danger to Equestria.'s hard when you can't fight the villain directly because they're using your love-interest as a shield!

Pokemon Tamers - The plot involved Pokemon suddenly appearing in the real world, and several people being chosen to stop the incursions. The involved characters included Cori, a daughter of a bakery-owning family with a talent for magic, and Kenta, a nerd with a deep passion for the Pokemon games. Cori was my character, and Kenta was another guy's. The very first session, he was already loving her food and impressed by her knowledge of the supernatural. She was similarly impressed by how much he knew about Pokemon.

They sort of danced around each other for a long time, constantly blushing at each other's compliments, but never really confirming anything. Until the water park mission. This happened after the one adult in our party had apparently been possessed by a god after trading his life for Cori's, a story which I'm sure I've talked about before. His player made a new character, who was from the Pokemon world himself as well. He encountered Cori first, and then said possessed adult grabbed him, and ending up calling her "mom" when trying to get out of the situation. Then when they encountered him again in the water park, he called Kenta "dad."

Furthermore, at the water park, another character ended up taking off his shirt after getting soaked, and thanks to a Charm roll with a Body bonus, made Cori get a nosebleed, which Kenta's starter ended up spraying down that character for. And then in one of the battles, Kenta ended up knocked out, and Cori freaked out because she thought he was dead. She ended up kissing him on the lips while begging him not to leave her, and after that they finally started officially going out together.

Cori would later on realize that she also had feelings for Viktoria, a member of their "rival" team. She then managed to talk Viktoria out of a battle, and ended up confessing there. More kissing ensued, and Kenta was okay with it as well. In the epilogue of the game, the three of them stayed together, and both Kenta and Viktoria ended up spending more time at Cori's house than any other, because their parents sucked.

Shikoku - More of a "normal" Pokemon adventure, in a homebrew region. My character, Surolam, has developed an attraction to three of her other party members. Currently, the only one who has returned her affections is Jil, an android. (They had their first kiss under the mistletoe during a session that happened during Christmas IRL, but was in the middle of July in-game.) Still, she's managed to make Jericho, the one fully human member of the party, blush quite a few times.
Mykin 14th Feb 2016, 12:52 PM edit delete reply
There are two PCs in the FO:E game I'm in that are hooked up. Though I don't have any stories about them because the players haven't been around since I've joined so yeah.

I had been toying with the idea of Astral having a love interest but that ended about as quickly as it started. No seriously, he finally figures out that he's been an anti-social workaholic with only one mare that's been his friend and he decides to ask her out. Roughly two sessions later, he finds out that his life was a complete lie and that said mare is going to be stuck in a computer simulation until he figures out a way to free her and everypony else in his Stable. This is not even factoring in that the mare he knew might not even remember him or be the same mare he knew in the simulation. So I've been stuck thinking about all of this in the middle of trying to figure out my character during our hiatus. Does he just cut his losses here and accept that he's lost his chance to really get to know her enough for there to be something between them? Or does he stubbornly refuse to give up and hold out hope that maybe she'll be the same when he rescues her? Heck, what happens if he finds some other mare he ends up falling for while trying to rescue the other members of Stable P-5 from their tyrannical Overmare?

But possibly the most important question I really should be asking is this: Is my GM actually putting as much thought into this as I am and does he actually care? Probably not, but I enjoy overthinking these kind of things anyway so whatever.

Man, turning down loot that the GM is offering you? Even if I was the only one being offered the loot, I'd accept it anyway, then split it amongst the party if they made a fuss about it. Unless the GM is a devious bastard, and that free loot has a whole bunch of little invisible strings attached.

Wait, if all on Cherry's crew get tickets, and all six are on the crew now, wouldn't they all get tickets?
As in, is the quest for the tickets over because the players went off the rails and ruined the GM's plans?
aerion111 15th Feb 2016, 11:10 AM edit delete reply
I suspect 'contractors' aren't included.
AJ's a special case, since she got a specific deal.
Werefrog 21st Feb 2016, 10:56 AM edit delete reply
that's a bit sad. The Werefrog always love reading the stories when the party goes completely unexpected and gets some major bonus as a result of doing stuff just because their characters would, and the GM couldn't stop them.
