Has Twilight gone over the edge, again?
Mykin 3rd Dec 2016, 9:03 AM edit delete reply
Do you even need to ask?

Considering the character she made for Grand Line 3.5, we know she has it in her.
AchtungNight 3rd Dec 2016, 5:19 AM edit delete reply
Wonder if her new Alicorn character is ready. The occasion would merit such a face. :)

Here comes Cadence, Princess of Love and Mind Control!

Oh you're right, this would be a good time to change over Twilight.

"What do you mean you're taking ascended classes on level 3?"
Jennifer 3rd Dec 2016, 5:59 AM edit delete reply
I gotta hand it to you, Spud; that was totally unexpected and extremely effective. With my resolution, it did not appear until I scrolled down through the comic. Good work.

I've seen those frames in HD before, I can't remember what I wanted them for, I think a reaction image. These ones weren't even the scariest.

Oooh... Are we finally going to get Alicorn Twilight?
The Old One 3rd Dec 2016, 7:04 AM edit delete reply
Gotta figure "Alicorn-anything" would be at least a Paragon class, although there's plenty of material to justify it being an Epic. I think that means Ali-Twi is potentially close, but should be another arc before she becomes eligible (As they're currently....8th?)

Cyborg7221 3rd Dec 2016, 10:08 AM edit delete reply
@The Old One: They're going up to 9th in this arc, actually.
Jellybean 3rd Dec 2016, 8:07 AM edit delete reply
Twilight. Twilight, no.

I have a feeling that Twilight just made a build that will even make Gilda proud.
Guest 3rd Dec 2016, 10:34 AM edit delete reply
Or horrify even her.

Digo Dragon
Heh, I would pay money to see that.
Kaze Koichi 4th Dec 2016, 6:35 AM edit delete reply
It almost sounds like G's plan succeeded.
redwings1340 4th Dec 2016, 11:10 AM edit delete reply
But not by accident. Its because Twilight is someone who gets a lot of enjoyment over comparing things, and analyzing something in depth.

It's also completely in character for Twilight to metagame herself to be the most op thing imaginable. Like, I could see the actual Twilight comparing these notes to decide what she wants to study next, making timetables and schedules, and having a 10 year plan detailing exactly what she's going to do to become the most powerful wizard she can be. Heck, she probably does this in the actual show.
Specter 3rd Dec 2016, 11:25 AM edit delete reply
Yes Twilight you missed something, you apparently missed a lot.
albedoequals1 3rd Dec 2016, 7:58 PM edit delete reply
Hahaha, Twilight already had the munchkin gene. Her new "optimized" build is going to make combat encounters near pointless. :D
Tempest Fennac 4th Dec 2016, 6:31 AM edit delete reply
Is it really possible to break combat like that in 4E? I've not played it much at all but I know the Powers Twilight chose so far are pretty poor overall.
Cyborg7221 4th Dec 2016, 12:04 PM edit delete reply
@Tempest Fennac: As a 4e veteran, I think I can safely say that combat is pretty cut and dry. Sure, you can optimize your character to be really, really good at it, but there's nothing that can really break the game before level 16. As was previously pointed out in the comic, that's when most OP builds kick into high gear.

The best low-level exploits I know involve tricks to gain more class features and power effects than is natural. Like, a Hybrid Cosmic Sorcerer has all of the features of a regular CS, plus everything that its second class gets, and you can use this one race/feat combo to become a half-Bard at level 1.

It'll be interesting to see what she comes up with, especially considering the comic's overall mechanical consistency up to this point.
Tempest Fennac 4th Dec 2016, 10:56 PM edit delete reply
I see thanks. What kind of build do you think would be best? I read that Illusion and Enchantment Powers are the best battlefield control options for Wizard in 4E but Twilight seems like more of a blaster.
T 5th Dec 2016, 4:58 AM edit delete reply
But aren't they moving to 5e?
Cyborg7221 5th Dec 2016, 7:45 AM edit delete reply
@Tempest That's technically true, but it's not like blaster wizards are useless. Strong Area of Effect damage still has a place in the game. Also, there are ethical considerations for invading minds that might rub some players (myself included) the wrong way.

@T No, they're not moving to 5e (at least, not yet). Once you've been playing the same system for a while, it can be hard to change, especially in the middle of an awesome campaign like this one. And some players, like Fluttershy, might just be too intimidated to learn a whole new set of rules. That's just how some groups are.
Tempest Fennac 6th Dec 2016, 6:09 AM edit delete reply
Good point. When I tried 4E I tried using a Vulpine (homebrew anthro fox) Wizard/archaeologist character but my options were really limited due to depending on things the DM had access to (it was played over Roll20). She was mostly a blaster but I think more options would have helped her a lot.

Ironically, 5E seems easier in a lot of ways to 4E (at least once characters are made). I know what you mean about swapping systems mid-campaign being awkward though.
