I may have overdeveloped the Thieves Guild in this comic's overall storyline, but I also can't get enough of the "Wonderbolts = Barbarians Guild" concept, either. The idea of Captain Spitfire being this bizarre role model who decided to somehow turn their magical rage-filled quest for endless battle into a career... It endlessly amuses me so.

Notice: Guest comic submissions are open! Guidelines here. Deadline: January 27th, 2023.

"Oh crap, I shouldn't have said he was a customer. Oh crap, I shouldn't have said it was a secret. Oh crap, I certainly shouldn't have said it was illegal!"

Eh. Rainbow Dash was already guessing/assuming, and Spitfire did not actually say it. Good enough to meet contractual obligations.

Well with the way Spitfire answered, getting paid was probably a truth.

I got hit by Irma. Had power, but lost cellular and internet services until this afternoon. Now it's hotter than heck and the yard needs more cleanup.

I hope Jose stays away. :|

Ouch! Yeah that was rough when it just sat there raining all week, flooding everything. :(

Living in Hoosierland as I do, all we got was a bit of rain and her dying breath. (Slightly higher than normal winds in the early morning.) Good-bye, Irma; you will *NOT* be missed...

Hey, if rage-filled endless battles is what you do, and what you're good at, why not get paid for it?

Thing is, in this society, what would the Wonderbolts be battling against?

The PCs mentioned wanting to clear out a certain monster-filled area before. Might the Wonderbolts see it as beneath their mettle but worth doing (and with a minor bounty on it), and contract Rainbow Dash and crew for said "easy" job as a test of their skill?

(Or have they/will they, just in an off-screen session since it'd be combat-focused?)

Well, dragons, for one thing. Probably roaming bands of Griffon bandits, monsters that escape Tartarus, wandering Everfree Forest creatures.

Basically, all the things the Mane 6 start to take care of once they get going.

Adventuring parties are usually just a very 'elite' cross between bandits and mercenaries, though sometimes they have more morals than either of those, so it's no surprise that there's less of a market for 'lesser' sellswords once one sets up shop in the area.

Why, hydras of course!

With some careful action, it's a fight that can last all day.

I'm definitely looking forward to see what Spud's got planned for the Wonderbolts - I haven't really heard of a "Barbarian's Guild" before this, and the way he describes it (and Spitfire's Quixotic goals) makes me eager to see more...

Calling it now: Blueblood's Thieves' Guild. Possibly even Elusive himself.
