Yep, Elusive. I kinda figured it was him since the first time he was mentioned
RandomRex6 5th Oct 2017, 6:14 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, once we learned the gala was the end game, it was kind of obvious. The good kind of obvious, though. The kind that gets you hyped up.

End game?

Do you think the DM (and NS) doesn't have a grander plot in mind, where all of this was but the first chapter? (At least by now, with several weeks to come up with more plot.)
Guest 5th Oct 2017, 6:27 PM edit delete reply
The end game of this arc, I mean.

Try not to look so surprised, Rarity. I mean, this was the obvious answer.
Mykin 5th Oct 2017, 6:54 AM edit delete reply

Yeah, yeah, it was obvious who he was. But I really liked the idea of the players blowing everything out of proportion to go with the obvious here. Still, he doesn't seem like that bad of a guy. I mean, he has manners after all.
Evilbob 5th Oct 2017, 12:25 PM edit delete reply
Eh. If he's outing himself for drama, he'd make a pretty bad leader of thieves guild. If Elusive is half as smart and cautious as the story's made out to be so far, Blueblood's probably a right-hoof stallion, or public face, or a highly-trusted member tasked with this particular exchange. Either that, or Elusive's darned certain of Rarity/Dainty Dove's loyalty.
Digo Dragon 5th Oct 2017, 1:09 PM edit delete reply
Digo Dragon
Yeah, I was holding out for Blueblood to be someone unexpected. A public face or insider from Celestia that continues the plot along to the next chapter.
Mykin 6th Oct 2017, 6:59 AM edit delete reply
@ Digo: Eh, there's still a chance that might be true. For all we know, Celestia might still be the one pulling the strings in the background here. Which gives me this interesting idea of a world where the thieves guild is actually the country's spy network and the whole thievery thing is just an act to make sure they stay in the loop of things. I could see some potential in that.
Archone 6th Oct 2017, 8:10 PM edit delete reply
That's been done in RL. Governments have often relied on organized crime groups to provide assistance in such matters. Hell, some crime syndicates STARTED as patriotic groups...

I like that in the little portrait panels, Fluttershy is looking ready to rip his throat out. With her teeth.
offroader 5th Oct 2017, 7:55 AM edit delete reply
I think that`s her players face.
Winged Cat 5th Oct 2017, 12:16 PM edit delete reply
Winged Cat
offroader: I think that face is shared by player and PC right now.
The Old One 5th Oct 2017, 9:54 AM edit delete reply
Let the record show that of the assembled ponies, FLUTTERSHY is the only one who seems out for blood at this moment.

Cue Flutterhulk

... *flips table* just give an anxiety attack why don't you, I'll show you a real mailman... mailpony.

In all honesty, this joke answer not too far from my guess back in 963 (about 6 pages I think).

Well, since it's clear he's not interested in Dainty Dove, maybe he should be introduced to Madame La Guillotine.
Jennifer 5th Oct 2017, 10:35 AM edit delete reply
Love the others' faces!

I'm not so sure yet that Blueblood is Elusive though.
Jennifer 5th Oct 2017, 10:51 AM edit delete reply
Also, I've never played 4th, but how likely is a prince to have so many thief levels that he's head of the guild? Is there multiclassing? Are there NPC classes like 3rd's Aristocrat?
Nixitur 5th Oct 2017, 11:13 AM edit delete reply
You don't need to have the Aristocrat class to be an aristocrat. He could be a prince and a full-on Rogue at the same time.

There are such things as social Rogues.

Tatsurou 5th Oct 2017, 1:17 PM edit delete reply
I just thought of a crazy way the next page could go.

Rarity:'re Elusive?
Blueblood: Yes indeed.
Rarity: But...but why did you blacklist me?
Blueblood: Because I want to retire.
Rarity: ...wha?
Blueblood: Look at me. Do you really think I'm old enough to have been Elusive the entire time the Thieve's Guild has been around?
Rarity: Well, we do have quite a few immortals hanging around...
Blueblood: Fair enough. But I'm not the first Elusive, nor will I be the last. Elusive has to be someone whose civilian identity is close to Princess Celestia, someone she trusts, and someone who can justify not wanting to be on the Guild's side. In essence, someone Princess Celestia believes to be a former member. And someone with enough of a civilian reputation to have the ear of many others. In other words...a social rogue.
Rarity: mean...
Blueblood: The first test was seeing how you would handle being kicked from the guild. The second test was finding me. There are many more tests to go...but I am certain you will do amazingly. I'll be watching for the day when I can pass my title to you. I know then the Guild will be in safe hooves. How could it not be...with the Element of Generosity at its helm?
Rarity: I...I...
Blueblood: Say nothing for now. Instead, let us enjoy a pleasant evening together, shall we?

Rarity: Well, I must say that was certainly unexpected.
Twilight: So...does that mean you'll still be playing Rarity?
Rarity: Oh absolutely, darling! That's a completely new direction I never thought to take!
DM: You're welcome.
Fluttershy: There's...just one problem now.
RD: Just one?
Fluttershy: None of us know about that part in character. All we know is Blueblood walked off with our friend, we have reason to be suspicious of him, and when they come back in she looks...dazed.
AJ: Huh. Given that, ah'd probably think Blueblood went and mind controlled her or somethin'. Ah'd have ta tell Fluttershy that, since she ain't here.
RD: And she would do...what?
Fluttershy: Well, if my friend were in danger...well, I'm pretty sure I'd try to find a way to help.
Pinkie: I would too! I'd make a distraction by swinging on the chandelier so Twilight could try and work a spell!
RD: I'd try and rally the Wonderbolts to make sure nothing else happens! Or if nothing else, get a good brawl going and get them to join in.
Fluttershy: And I'd rally the animals to charge the proceedings to protect Rarity!
Rarity: ...oh dear.
DM: Everyone roll.
DM: ...well, Blueblood ducked behind Rarity to avoid Pinkie's flying cake attack, Rarity takes no damage, but gets a minus 1 on the charisma bonus from her outfit since she's covered in cake. The brawl has encompassed everyone in the Gala since many of the nobles are former adventurers, though without any of their epic gear on them. Fluttershy failed to communicate who she thought was the 'evil unicorn' hurting her friend, so they're attacking everyone with a horn except Rarity, Twilight, and Celestia...and Celestia has turned to give Twilight a look.
Twilight: ...uh much trouble am I in?
DM: Roll charisma and luck.
DM: Hmm...she leans in close...
Celestia: *whisper* This is the part where you run away.
DM: She grins at you and winks conspiratorially.
RD: Ohmigosh! Is Celestia a former adventurer, too? What class? What class?
Twilight: Find out after we RUN AWAY!

Ooh, I wish I could have seen the comic take this path! Not that the path Spud picked was bad either, but this is a freakin' awesome twist!
Jennifer 5th Oct 2017, 10:14 PM edit delete reply
OK, this needs to be turned into a guest bonus comic. And then read aloud by Spud. Yesterday.

My name is Rarity. I used to be a thief until....."We've got a Burn Notice on you your blacklisted. When your burned you've got nothing. No cash, no credit, no job history. Your stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in. "Where am I?"..."Pnyville". You do whatever work comes your way. You rely on anyone who's still talking to you. A axe happy barbarian. "Should we kill them?" An old friend who used to inform on you to the guild "You know thieves bunch of bitchy little girls." Family too. "Hey is that your mom again?" If your desperate. "Someone needs your help Rarity?" Bottom line as long as your burned your not going anywhere

In fairness, as soon as we realize that Dainty Dove was marrying the campaign big bad guy, being the head of the guild is kinda the obvious thing.

With that said, I absolutely love the "I was not the first Dread Pirate Roberts, would you like to take over the job now" fan idea.
