How was your Thanksgiving/Black Friday?
Me:Good/Didn't go
Kaze Koichi 25th Nov 2017, 5:37 AM edit delete reply
The thing I wanted didn't get BF discount anyway.
emmerlaus 25th Nov 2017, 5:47 AM edit delete reply
Same here.

I never cared about "Black Friday" to begin with. I hate crowds, I hate shopping and I never was into getting stepped on either. I have enough money to ignore this event all together.

Beside, you realize the irony of Black Friday? A day where you do everything you can to buy stuff you don't really need... right after a holiday that is all about being grateful to what you already have? :D

There's also the issue that about half of the deals you get on Black Friday are bad deals. You're more likely to find good deals if you wait until the first couple weeks in December where you have time to research and shop around.

So yeah, stay home and enjoy leftovers instead.

I finished my holiday shopping before Thanksgiving. The trick is to always be on the lookout for potential gifts.
Venseyness 25th Nov 2017, 7:46 AM Black Friday edit delete reply
Thanksgiving was nice and low-key this year. As for Black Friday? I didn't go either but almost everyone shops for Black Friday stuff online now. From everything i've heard it's just "The malls were at a 2007 level of normal foot traffic instead of a 2017 level". Malls, at least near where I live, are desolate these days. There's a mall that used to be so booming you could barely move without bumping into someone. Now? I'm pretty sure the staff outnumber the customers.
terrycloth 25th Nov 2017, 4:06 PM edit delete reply
Malls around here and in my hometown consolidated -- some of them closed down and the rest are still popular enough. I avoided them on Black Friday though since they're annoyingly crowded even when it isn't a special occasion. @.@

Not a thing here/didn't go. There's never anything worth it.

Thanksgiving: I'm in the UK, it's not a thing.

Black Friday: Did everything via online shopping and digital distribution. No queuing required. Got roped by my parents into helping them try to buy a new PC for my dad, right as a time crunch started kicking in. Joy.

Didn't have anything to buy on Black Friday. (Still waiting for Christmas want lists from those I'll be buying gifts for.)

Thanksgiving was smaller than expected, just 5 (4 family + 1 family friend). Going to partially make up for that by getting some friends over (who all had other places to be on Thanksgiving itself) for leftovers in about 7.5 hours. While it was a nice meal, my entire family cooks, so it was unusual only in the particulars of what was served. That said, when you go through an entire bag of charcoal to cook 2 birds over 2 days, smoking each one from dawn 'til dusk...well, artistic food creations might be impermanent like sand mandalas, but they are still art.

I have only once in my life set foot in a mall on Black Friday. There's a brief window when it's desolate enough to be safe, but it hasn't closed down completely yet.

I stayed home for the most part. The only Black Friday shopping I did were in-game deals for various online games.

My brother, however, got caught in Wal-Mart on Black Friday... and all he was doing was trying to buy groceries. "I don't want a new TV, I just want food!" XD

I had a lovely dinner with the 'rents. No politics were mentioned. I was sent home with enough leftovers that my car complained that my passenger wasn't wearing their seat belt.

For Black Friday, I went to the Dickens Fair over in San Francisco. Happy Christmas!

Good/accidentally went when we needed to get stuff for my brother then realized it was a bad day to do so... Fortunately the store we went to was not that crazy.
Hariman 25th Nov 2017, 10:14 PM edit delete reply
I bought the expansion pack for Crypt of the Necrodancer, a USB controller for a few games that work better with a controller, and a reasonably priced 500 gig SSD as a backup drive.

Wow, I never even noticed Fluttershy had a squirrel in her mouth in the original episode.
Platonix 25th Nov 2017, 8:16 AM edit delete reply
...Well, I'm pretty sure that reaction just put to bed any theories that Celestia was the Elusive behind the Elusive the whole time... and possibly even the theories that she even knew who Elusive was at all.
The MunchKING 25th Nov 2017, 8:56 AM edit delete reply

Does it? Or is she just getting rid of a minion who has proven himself to be untrustworthy and drawn the fire of a bunch of high-level heroes?
Winged Cat 25th Nov 2017, 10:30 AM edit delete reply
Winged Cat
Or perhaps a minion who had become an inconvenience, and this was a convenient opportunity for disposal?
Digo Dragon 27th Nov 2017, 6:10 AM edit delete reply
Digo Dragon
Or perhaps she just wants to get the PCs out of the room because they just caused a scene of epic proportions?
Belmontzar 25th Nov 2017, 4:13 PM edit delete reply
Or shes one of those monarchs who truely hates spies, and knowing now that RArity was Blacklisted, fully trusts her as part of the heroic band. OR this is a test to make SURE Rarity herself is not doing some elaborate scheme with Blueblood.

OR she just wants Blueblood dead cause F*** Blueblood, whiney little entitled brat had this coming.
The MunchKING 25th Nov 2017, 6:35 PM edit delete reply
The MunchKING
However something that just occurred to me; She knows what's going on, even though she just walked in the door, and just had time to see the carnage.

It means she either could hear Rarity through the door despite the GM not telling Twilight she could, has some kind of magic surveillance set up she was already using to monitor the situation, she already KNEW about the Elusive thing and seeing Fluttershy shout and raid the party with an army of animals was enough to convince her everything had gone belly-up for Blueblood, OR she just inherently trusts Twilights friends because they're PCs. Or some combination of the above.

Which answer is right could mean very interesting things in the future.
hariman 25th Nov 2017, 10:16 PM edit delete reply
If a bird in the gardens could hear Rarity telling off Elusive, Celestia likely heard it too.

Or, you know, Fluttershy's entrance of "WHERE'S ELUSIVE?!" might have been a clue.
The MunchKING 26th Nov 2017, 6:59 AM edit delete reply
The MunchKING
Celestia wasn't in the gardens though (Which was where Rarity and Blueblood arranged their secret Rendezvous anyway), and Fluttershy demanded to know about Blueblood in the previous comic.
Captain Snark 25th Nov 2017, 6:35 PM edit delete reply
Or she's just throwing him under the bus because he's been exposed.
ANW 25th Nov 2017, 8:41 PM edit delete reply
Personal opinion?
I think she was looking for an excuse to get rid of him.
Weed the bad nobles out, and get the better ones in.
Hariman 25th Nov 2017, 10:19 PM edit delete reply
The God Empress has spoken.

Elusive/Blueblood shall be hunted down, captured, and likely imprisoned for his crimes!

But... I sense a twist coming, somehow.

Masterfully done Spud, and can't wait to see where this goes! =D
