DM: ...and that ends the turn for the ninjas.
Applejack: Yeouch. Okay, the adds gotta go. Dibs on that band name, though.
DM: Rainbow?
Rainbow Dash: I use Pressing Strike, shifting into position.
DM: ...That's a miss.
Rainbow Dash: Crap, I was gonna follow up with Flurry of Blows. No way I'm using my action point this early… Guess all I did was move!
DM: Applejack.
Applejack: Payback time. Ah mark the nearest ninja as mah quarry.
DM: Like you do.
Applejack: Then Ah use Attacks on the Run to wade in; hit them and their buddy.
DM: As a reaction, "Garrett" gets a few potshots in… for a pretty solid hit.
Applejack: Fine. Then Ah'll use Invigorating Stride.
DM: To get out and take your second wind, nice. After that, at last, it's Elusive's turn! And he has just one target in mind…
Rarity: Bring it.
Blueblood: As you wish.
Heh TV tropes now complains that you use an adblock and tells you how many pages you have visited on the site every time you change pages. This will actually make the tv tropes black hole of time less likely to happen with that constant reminder.
A lot of sites complain about ad-blocking, but I feel that if they would police their site to stop popups and auto-play videos, I wouldn't need Adblock to begin with.
Ah, but you see, TVTropes gets you there too. If you have AdBlock -and- NoScript, you don't get to see -anything- unless you allow some alphanumeric-looks-like-classic-malware-bait-URLs-that-apparently-actually-belong-to-Google to run.
Wow, page 1000 already? Time really does fly doesn't it? I remember back when I first found this comic around page 416 or so. I ended up going back to D&D because of this comic (and because I desperately wanted to have some stories to share for Story Time, even if none of them made it into the videos) and I went to my first pony con because I wanted to meet Spud in person. So much has happened since then that it's kind of hard to believe that we're here right now.
Good Job, Spud! Got anything special for comic 1000 planned?
Ahh, but the Conservation of Ninjitsu is in effect. So Applejack is perfectly fine on bashing those ninjas' heads... at least until they get down to the last one, but that'll probably be Elusive, and that's already a bad situation there, so no major loss.
The best ninjas don't wear the black pajamas. The black pajama guys are mooks. They might land a hit, but they're all just hoping to survive long enough to become the trainer that sends all the mook ninjas into the fight.
The best ninjas either have an abundance of facial hair (usually surprisingly long instead of thick) or are green and wear color coded domino masks.
Or as John Goodman said in Speed Racer: "It's terrible what passes for a ninja these days."
Funny for acting so aggressively so often Dash leads the 1st round in a boss fight using what I recall is an at will power and then choosing to not use an action point on a class that really rewards using a daily early and often in rages.
Dash's player is much more cautious than I would have expected.
Dash needed a hit to use one of her big attacks, and she missed. Hence, she's saving her action point for a better hit and a round when she can do WAY more damage.
Also, it's only round one, so we'll probably see the action point/dailies very soon!
Y'know there's an anime out there called "Master of Martial Hearts" that's nothing but a bunch of girls beating each other up and ripping apart their clothes in the process. I suspect that just like in that show the first and only casualty in the upcoming fight will be Rarity's dress.
Seems like the last thing you'd want to hunt, to designate as your "game," would be a ninja, but what do I know?
One week until page 1000...
